Agents of SHIELD at New York Comic Con 2016

Agents of SHIELD title

Very few shows make yearly trips to New York Comic Con, but Agents of SHIELD has been a mainstay at the convention for the past few years.

The annual Agents of SHIELD panel is almost always the same: they give fans an advance screening of the episode that will air the following week, and then Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb (and usually star Clark Gregg) will come out and answer a question or two.

This year, Marvel brought not only perennial favorites Jeph and Clark but also Chloe Bennett and Gabriel Luna, the newest addition to the Marvel television universe and the focus of this season: Ghost Rider.

I wasn’t able to attend the panel, so I didn’t get to see the episode or any of the Q&A that surely followed, but I was lucky enough to get an invitation to the press room. Marvel is notoriously tight-lipped about their properties – Jeph Loeb joked that he was wearing a shock collar so that he wouldn’t reveal any spoilers – so there were a lot of questions that went unanswered or got very vague responses. (“Strange things are coming,” was Jeph’s answer to a question as to whether or not Doctor Strange would tie in to the show.) However, the cast had a lot of great insight into their characters and where they stand right now, especially since it’s so very different from what we’ve seen previously.
