It will be correct to say that in the ‘competition’ of major Hollywood studios at SDCC 2018, Warner Bros. ended up being the clear winner. Fans were treated to trailers for highly-anticipated films such as Aquaman, Godzilla: King of Monsters, and Shazam. Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald also got a new trailer.

Of course, things would have gone differently if Disney’s MCU had decided to show up at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. But yeah, kudos to Warner Bros. for coming prepared and giving the fans what they were hoping for.

Let’s begin with talking about the new trailer for Fantastic Beasts 2. We got a lot of new footage, including visuals of new beasts and a surprise character at the very end. Also, Dumbledore saw Grindelwald in the Mirror of Erised!

Jude Law has said he doesn’t have any scenes with Depp. So, you know this film is going to be a huge tease when it comes to Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship. I had to record my reaction to the new trailer!

The film will be released on November 16, 2018.

The trailer for Godzilla: King of Monsters ended looking like an installment in the Fantastic Beasts film series. Let’s see how the human race will fare in front of the ancient titans. Also, while I like Millie Bobby Brown, I couldn’t help but think the makeup department should have tried a bit more to not make her look like Eleven from Stranger Things. Perhaps a pair of glasses or a ponytail?

Anyway, Godzilla: King of Monsters will be released on May 31, 2019.

We also got the first trailer for Shazam. I have got to be honest: I didn’t like it. For me, it would have worked better as a film on DC Universe to get people to subscribe to the upcoming streaming service. While I like Zachary Levi, he looks ridiculous in the over-padded costume and not in a good way.

You can also watch my live reaction to the trailer if you want.

Warner Bros. released an entire trailer for Aquaman. The studio’s DC Comics-based superhero universe has not been doing well. So, let’s see if Aquaman will be able to turn the tides for the better.

While I am not a fan of Aquaman as a character, I can appreciate the hard work director James Wan has done to make this movie. And yes, I can see that it looks way too CG-heavy, but maybe the audience will enjoy such a take when the film is released on December 14, 2018? Here’s my live reaction.

What did you think of the trailers Warner Bros. brought to SDCC 18? Which one was your favorite? Let us know.
