‘Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders’ Trailer and Release Dates!

Batman Return of the Caped Crusaders Box art

The iconic 1960s Batman TV series is getting an animated treatment with the upcoming Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

I watched the Batman TV series about a year ago and found it to be very enjoyable. It is pure camp and, judging by the trailer, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will follow suit. To make things even more exciting, some of the original cast are reprising their roles. Adam West will voice Batman, Burt Ward will voice Robin, and Julie Newmar will voice Catwoman.

Here’s the official description:

It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes – Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. The four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City. It’s a truly fantastic adventure that will pit good against evil, good against good, evil against evil … and feature two words that exponentially raise the stakes for both sides: Replicator Ray. Holy Multiplication Tables!”

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders was directed by Rick Morales (LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Cosmic Clash). Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans GO!) and James Tucker (Justice League vs. Teen Titans) penned the script.

Check out the hilarious trailer!

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available to own on Digital HD starting 11th October, 2016.

The animated film will be available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP) and DVD ($19.98 SRP) on the 1st of November, 2016.

The Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders Blu-ray™ Enhanced Content will include two featurettes:

  1. “Those Dastardly Desperados” featurette – Joker, Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler are impossible not to watch! Those Dastardly Desperados explores how these fiends became more than just antagonists in a Batman story; they became icons in American pop culture.
  2. “A Classic Cadre of Voices” featurette – A new talented cast of actors join Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar in Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders. Go behind the scenes and witness the vocal techniques and timing needed to deliver a classic Bat-Comedy!

I for one am looking forward to the release of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. What about you?
