Claws 2×5 Review: Vaginalologist

Vaginalologist Claws season 2 review

We have reached the mid-season mark in the 10-episode second season of Claws, and ‘Vaginalologist’ did a lot to change things up for Desna and her crew. It is going to be interesting to see how she decides to deal with Zlata.

I was provided a screener of ‘Vaginalologist’ for review. The opinions are my own.

All of us knew Gregory and Desna’s relationship wasn’t going to last, because she didn’t know his true face as a mob boss. However, what I wasn’t expecting was the twist involving Zlata and Gregory hooking up with each other. I need answers, Claws!

How long has it been going on? Why is it even happening in the first place? I would appreciate answers that make sense. I hope the show’s writers don’t just say Gregory and Zlata are together because they are crazy. This isn’t Gotham!

With Desna knowing the truth about Gregory, I am all for her coming out of the ‘I-am-about-to-have-the-perfect-life’ dream and planning revenge. She needs to take down both Gregory and Zlata. Arlene might help Desna with the Russian mob because she, still working as a cop, is already forcing Ken to collect information which can be used against Zlata. There are five more episodes to go and so much can happen. I am so excited!

The rest of ‘Vaginalologist’ dealt with the pain Uncle Daddy continues to feel because of the Russian mob. I really enjoyed the scene where Auntie Mama showed up in his mind and urged him not to ignore the homophobic comments coming from the people around him in the bar. No one uses Uncle Daddy’s bisexuality to demean him as a person, and him teaching everyone a (very violent) lesson was fun to watch.

Some thoughts and questions:

  • Do you think getting shot will help Bryce mend things with Jenn?
  • I liked seeing Dean handling the stage fright he experienced. Virginia is very supportive of him and I hope to see their relationship prosper.
  • Hurray for Quiet Ann and Arlene being all lovey-dovey with each other. Here’s to hoping their relationship is able to survive when the truth about Arlene still working as a cop comes out.
  • Seeing Roller taking care of his son was very cute.

Did you watch Claws this week? What did you think of ‘Vaginalologist’? Let us know.
