Comichaus is ready to launch the beta version of their new Comichaus app on November 21, 2017. The upcoming app is being described as “Netflix for indie comics.”

I’m all for supporting indie talent. A lot of mainstream comic books seem to go from one mega event to the next, and most of the stories have a repetitive feel to them. On the other hand, there are a lot of great indie reads out there waiting to be discovered.

The upcoming Comichaus app will include featured releases, new releases, and ‘most read’ comics. Users will be able to effortlessly stream and discover indie comics present in the Comichaus catalog. All of the available titles can be searched for and filtered by genre, creator, and title. The comics can be saved for offline reading too.

Users will also be able to review and recommend titles, share their favorites on social media, as well as know more about their comic book creators.

The Comichaus app subscription will cost £3 per month (or £30 per year). You should take note that “50% of advert and subscription revenue will be split with creators based on how many times their books are read.” It sounds like a great way to support your favorite indie comic book creators. Print issues for sale on Comichaus will also be linked to the upcoming app.

I do remember a Kickstarter campaign for this app. So, it’s good to see the company reached its goal.

The Comichaus website got its start as a platform to offer support and profile small and indie comic book creators, building a respectable database and marketplace for indie comic books.

The creators themselves are so passionate, it is impossible to resist when you see the products everyone creates whilst still holding down day jobs and working so hard. They need to be seen by more people!” said Pete Genepool, Comichaus founder.

You’ll be able to download the beta version of the Comichaus app on November 21, 2017. It’ll be available for devices supporting iOS 9, iOS 10.x, and Android 4.4 – 7.x. The layouts (to begin with) include Portrait Handset, Tablet Portrait, and Tablet Landscape.

Feel free to share your thoughts about the Comichaus app with us.
