Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Manga Issue 22 Review – The Conclusion To A Fierce Battle

Boruto manga chapter 22 review The Conclusion to a Fierce Battle

This month’s manga issue of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, titled ‘The Conclusion to a Fierce Battle,’ was another disappointing chapter in the current arc. If it hadn’t been for the last few panels in Issue 22, I would not have been able to make myself write a review.

I didn’t enjoy Ao and Boruto’s battle. It was exciting at first, but mangaka Mikio Ikemoto dragged it out for too long. Also, while I understand Boruto is the main character, having his team (including Konohamaru) be sidelined in ‘The Conclusion to a Fierce Battle’ was boring.

During the beginning of Naruto, Sakura was nowhere near Naruto and Sasuke’s power levels. So, having a Genin Sakura stay away from certain fights made sense. However, Salad and Mitsuki are as capable as Boruto during battle. That’s why seeing them stay back while Boruto fought Ao was annoying. Even Konohamaru didn’t do anything. I want Team 7 to work as a team!

As far as Ao is concerned, we got no explanation about why he decided to stop being a ninja. He did use his jutsu to save Boruto when Kashin Koji showed up. So, hopefully, we might get some answers. Speaking of Kashin, he’s the reason I decided to write this review.

I was not expecting him to appear in front of Team 7! I’m looking forward to seeing what he does next. Will he fight Team 7? Will he talk about the strange marking on Boruto’s palm? I can’t wait to find out! Fingers crossed, Kashin’s appearance lives up to the hype.

Furthermore, one of the reasons I’m interested in the Kara organization is because I want them to serve as worthy opponents for older characters like Shikamaru, Tenten, Kiba, etc. I need to see the previous generation fight the current threat. So, here’s to hoping Kashin’s current appearance initiates such a  sequence of events.
