“The Official DC Super Hero Joke Book” Offers A Lot of Laughs That Make Sense

The official DC Super Hero Joke Book review Downtown Bookworks

Downtown Bookworks continues its streak of publishing enjoyable DC Comics-inspired books. The Official DC Super Hero Joke Book follows the company’s quality trend and delivers a lot of laughs.

The Official DC Super Hero Joke Book has more than 600 jokes consisting of puns, gags, riddles, and more. The jokes are kid-friendly but I couldn’t stop laughing while reading this book because they do make a lot of sense.

The Official DC Super Hero Joke Book has been written by three authors. There’s Noah Smith, Sarah Parvis, and Michael Robin. Noah Smith said, “I have a great deal of respect for these icons. So, I tried to write jokes that were funny without making fun of the characters or the idea of superheroes as a whole. I hope I succeeded because you don’t want people who can bend steel with their bare hands mad at you.”

After reading the book Noah Smith has definitely succeeded. As I mentioned, the jokes do make sense. One of my personal favorites is the one between Mera and Black Canary.

Mera: “Black Canary, why did you use your canary cry to blow out your birthday candles?

Black Canary: “It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to.”

There are numerous characters from DC Comics in this book. You have jokes about Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batman, Cyborg, Katana, and more. The entire book is just so awesome.

It also follows the trend of animating the characters in their old outfits and looks which I really like.
