Diamond Select Toys Announces Daredevil Minimates

Diamond Select Toys

Following the release of Marvel’s Daredevil season 2 on Netflix back in March 2016, Diamond Select Toys has announced the addition of Daredevil characters to its Minimates line.

The set contains Daredevil/Matt Murdock (with interchangeable pieces), superhero ally Claire Temple, best friend Foggy Nelson, and villain Wilson Fisk. The version of the Daredevil costume in this set is the black outfit from early season 1, making it a neat reminder of the character’s origins. Any later sets seem likely to include the current incarnation of the costume. It’s great to see the tough and resourceful Claire (a.k.a. The Night Nurse) in the set. Hopefully we’ll get Elektra and Karen Page in the next wave of figures, too. As The Geekiary’s been noticing, there seems to be a positive, upward trend in the inclusion of female characters in merchandise lately for multiple properties.

There’s no word from Netflix as to when Daredevil season 3 will drop, mostly due to schedule juggling for filming of The Defenders, which unites the characters in Netflix’s street-level Marvel superhero shows.

In the meantime, there’s always rewatching on Netflix and the release of new action figures.
