‘The Domestics’ Trailer Better Inspire Some Awesome Sterek Fanwork!

The Domestics Trailer Tyler Hoechlin Kate Bosworth

The trailer for the Kate Bosworth and Tyler Hoechlin starring The Domestics has been released, and it surely is something. It feels like a budget mashup of Mad Max, The Purge series (which are already quite cheap to make), and any other apocalyptic movie, TV series, game or book you might have consumed. And you know what? I have a feeling it is going to be great! Grab some friends and watch it together!

The Domestics was directed by Mike P. Nelson. After premiering as the opening film at Cinepocalypse 2018 in Chicago, it will be released in select theaters on June 28, 2018, followed by a VOD release beginning June 29, 2018. The film also serves as a relaunch for Orion Classics.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by murderous gangs divided into deadly factions as Bosworth and Hoechlin’s characters race desperately across the lawless countryside in search of safety.

Kate and Tyler play Nina and Mark West,” said writer-director Mike P. Nelson. “They are a couple who were on the verge of divorce when the world ended. They stick together for survival, but Mark wants to prove to Nina that he still loves her. Together the two of them embark on this crazy road trip to try and reunite with Nina’s parents.”

Talking about the action, Nelson said, “surrounded by loads of intense action and old-school horror. I wanted to make a movie that did action the old-fashioned way. There is a reality to what’s on screen because it’s all real. Doing almost everything in camera was very important to me, and I think visually makes the movie stand out from the over-processed, computer-generated summer action films. But also, it’s a movie about love and fighting for what’s right in uncertain times. I wanted to tell a story about no matter how bad things can get and that no matter how broken it is, love can still win.”

Here’s the trailer! Also, look at Tyler in his Clark Kent getup with those glasses!

I don’t know about you, but all I was thinking about while watching the trailer was the awesome Sterek fan work it provided content for.

Imagine Derek and Lydia making their way to Stiles in such a post-apocalyptic world or you can replace Nina with Stiles. You can even go the Hobrien route if you want. There is so much that can be done, especially with the different factions!

Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts about The Domestics with us.
