15-Year Old Actress Elsie Fisher Demonstrates Class while Handling Cyberbullying for Supporting ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Golden Globe-nominee Elsie Fisher has demonstrated maturity many of us can learn from. The young actress faced cyberbullying for supporting Bohemian Rhapsody. Even if you didn’t like the Freddie Mercury biopic due to the Bryan Singer drama, attacking a kid online is not right!

Elsie Fisher is a class act, even in the face of cyberbullying.

Bohemian Rhapsody winning the Best Motion Picture award at the Golden Globes 2019 ceremony was a surprise. Many thought the award was going to be presented to A Star Is Born. Anyway, while the cast and crew of the film didn’t mention Bryan Singer during the acceptance speech or the press that followed, certain people were not having any of it. To them, giving the award to such a film meant the Hollywood Foreign Press Association was ignoring all of the accusations of sexual misconduct against director Bryan Singer.

Fisher tweeted her excitement and support for Bohemian Rhapsody and it led to cyberbullying (even from adults).

I have already shared my thoughts about the Bryan Singer situation. For me, an entire film shouldn’t be penalized for what a single person did. Singer was fired, and even though he is credited as director on the movie, he has been kicked out of the circle associated with the project. No one is giving him any real credit.

Of course, he can talk about it online, and Brett Ratner (another problematic person) can share his approval, but such a move only came across as petty to me.

Attacking Fisher for liking the film makes no sense whatsoever.

Yes, you can go ahead and let others know about something they might not realize is problematic. However, outright attacking and bullying someone, especially a kid, for sharing an opinion is not the right way to go about it.

Heres to hoping others can learn from Fisher’s eloquent response.

Let’s see if the Academy decides to recognize Bohemian Rhapsody or if the Rami Malek-led film will be ignored to keep the upcoming award ceremony away from more controversy.

Feel free to share your thoughts with us.
