FEELINGS Daily: Zachary Quinto is in Hannibal, Jeff Goldblum is in Independence Day 2, and Dan Stevens is a Beast!

jg

Yesterday I was over talking about Spider-Man and today I’m starting to get over talking about Dylan O’Brien, which is sad because I love that adorable dweeb. Anyway the word is out, Dylan told BuzzFeed that he has not been approached to play the part of Peter Parker in any upcoming Spider-Man films. Unfortunately I very much doubt this will be the end of this conversation, but there’s nothing we can do about that, besides there’s so much other cool stuff that gave me FEELINGS in the last 24 hours.

The most important news is that Jeff Goldblum and Liam Hemsworth have been cast in the much anticipated Independence Day sequel. If I’m honest, I have to admit that this is actually the first time I have heard about Independence Day 2 but I imagine there are people out there that are much anticipating it. Especially now that we know Jeff Goldblum and Liam Hemsworth are set to star alongside Jessie Usher in the upcoming blockbuster. (via EOnline)

The next piece of incredibly exciting, yet also kind of creepy, casting news is that Downton Abby’s Dan Stevens is set to play the Beast to Emma Watson’s Belle in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Dan Stevens is all kinds of repressed hottie, so I’m sure he’ll make a fantastic Beast but at the same time, he’s like 8 years older than Emma Watson. She’s 24, he’s 32. Beauty and the Beast was already creepy enough, it really didn’t need the added age difference. Hollywood is gross sometimes, actually most of the time. GOOD NEWS! Much to the excitement of our admin Angel – Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Heroes) will be sitting down at Hannibal’s table in Season 3. According to Variety he will play a patient of Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson). As if we needed to be more excited about Hannibal Season 3?

BAD NEWS! According to The Wrap, Ruth Wilson WILL NOT reprise her role as Alice Morgan in the two-part miniseries of Luther that has just started filming. I’m super excited that Luther is back but Alice Morgan was basically my fave character ever so this is a hard blow for me to come to terms with.

In other news:

  • The HBO streaming subscription-free streaming service has a release date. It will launch with Game of Thrones Season 5 on April 12, 2015 and it’s expected to cost $15/month. (via International Business Times)
  • Speaking of stream services, Netflix will launch in Australia and New Zealand on March 31 and will cost $9.99 a month. (via TechGude.com.au)
  • The Geekiary is doing a poll for the Best New Series in 2014/2015 and you should vote. You can vote for whoever you want, but if you’re taking suggestions then I say Agent Carter is the greatest show ever.

Finally the MTV Movie Award nominations are out, if that’s something you’re interested in. The awards include important categories like Best Shirtless Performance (you think I’m being sarcastic but I’m actually that shallow) and best Scared-As-S**t Performance. Also Scarlett Johansson & Chris Evans are nominated for Best Kiss for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is weird and unsettling. And clearly Eddie Redmayne’s best On-Screen Transformation was in Jupiter Ascending not The Theory of Everything. But what do I know. If you want to see the full list of nominees you can check them out at MTV.com.
