Welcome to Geekiary News Briefs, where we go over some recent interesting occurrences in the geek world.

Forbes has revealed the 2016 list of the world’s highest paid TV actors. After topping the list last year, out actor Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) took the lead again this year with $25 million. Another win for the queer community! Additionally his cast mates made up the rest of the top five.

Fans of Margot Robbie will see her don her comedy hat come October 15th 2016. The Suicide Squad actress will be hosting the season 42 premiere of Saturday Night Live. This will be her first time hosting the show, and it’s definitely exciting that on top of that, she’s hosting the season premiere.

Ryan Murphy revealed to EW what Cory Monteith said to him the last time they spoke before his unfortunate death in 2013. Murphy was filming The Normal Heart when Monteith and Lea Michele dropped by for a visit; before leaving, Monteith hugged Murphy and said, “I love you, man, and thank you for helping me get better.” Murphy likened the loss of Monteith to that of losing a child.

Milla Jovovich talked about saying goodbye to the Resident Evil film franchise. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will hit theaters on January 27 th 2017. It is the fourth film in the series that was directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson. The couple’s eldest daughter, Ever, plays the evil Red Queen in the upcoming installment.

The Dr. Who spin-off titled Class has been given a premiere date. Peter Capaldi will appear on the show, with the first two episodes of the new series set to air on October 22nd 2017 in the U.K. However, as of yet there has been no announcement about when the show will air on BBC America. We’re excited to see how Class performs as a queer main character is part of the series.

Geekiary News Briefs Batman Return of the Caped CrusadersNow, let’s talk about New York Comic Con 2016!

Fans will be getting two doses of DC animation by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will open the convention on the 6th of October. The latest DC title will also be getting a limited one-day theatrical release, and you’ll be able to get it on Digital HD the very next day. The Blu-ray and DVD versions will hit shelves on the 1st of November.

On Saturday afternoon of NYCC, fans will get the chance to see the first official footage from Justice League Dark. The team of fictional characters includes Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Jason Blood, Black Orchid, and John Constantine…and for some reason, Batman will also be part of the film. I’m not sure how queer Warner Bros. will be willing to go with Constantine, but it’s nice to know that he is a part of the upcoming movie. Justice League Dark has an early 2017 release date.

MTV’s Teen Wolf will also attend. The Teen Wolf panel will be held on Saturday in the Hammerstein Ballroom. It will include Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, and executive producer Jeff Davis. MTV recently revealed a promotional image for the final season. It puts a lot of focus on Stiles (Dylan O’Brien). Some fans have been vocal about promoting Stiles in such a manner because it comes across as possible false advertising.

The Geekiary will be present at New York Comic Con 2016. Feel free to say hi!
