Get To Know Gay Romance Writer Aeryn Jaden!

02

Today I have author Aeryn Jaden with me. She writes gay romance stories which I know a lot of you will find interesting to read. Check out our exclusive interview with the author where we talk about her work, what makes a good writer, and more!

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m 28 and, for now, I live in Belgium. I was born in Romania and lived half there, half in Greece until just two years ago. No, I don’t know greek. I know geek though, hahaha.

When did you realize you loved to write?

Oh. This is a difficult question. I was always imagining stories and bugging my mother to read to me. The first story I wrote was when I was eight. And to my teacher’s surprise it was a love story. I must have been precocious.  And about the loving part… I don’t know about other writers but I have a love/hate relationship with my writing. It’s something that can depress me or make me ecstatic. I love it one moment just to curse it the next. In my case it’s a need to write, a drive. Sure I’m passionate about it but love? To complicated for that word.

What makes a good writer in your opinion?

Who said I was? Hahaha. When somebody announces that he/she is a good writer they either have their noses so up high you cannot reach them with a ladder or they’re, I don’t know, Stephen King? Not that he’ll say that but he has all the right to do so. I have some pluses and a lot of faults. I get interesting ideas, mostly from thin air. I’m still learning how to give voice to my worlds but hopefully I’ll get there.

What are some authors who have inspired you?01

I admire a lot of authors. A lot! It’s hard work to keep up and reach a certain measure of exposure. It’s hard to choose. Among my favourites are Jordan Castillo Price, Amy Lane, Stormy Glenn, Madelaine Urban , Ariel Tachna , Abigail Roux, Josh Lanyon, Sean Michael, Sean Kennedy and so on. Oh, my! I guess I read a lot.  I was reading Nora Roberts some years ago, she was among my favourites. Also Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, Stephen King,(any horror/fantasy good book in general) some obscure poets and a lot of history books. I‘ll stop now.

What can you tell us about your Return of the Originals Series? What kind of readers will it appeal to?

Readers that are searching for a light story with a touch of paranormal and a lot of hot manlove. Yes, it’s cliché, but I write what I like to read. The stories in this series are gay romance.

You have written a lot of books. Any favorite of yours?

I’ve loved writing Good for Me. I‘ve loved how awkward and real my main character Tyler ended up. I probably have a lot to fix in that book but I still like it. I’m going to take it down soon and give it a good editing. I can hardly wait to have the time to write the sequel. I have tons of stuff in store for my gruff Bain and his loudmouthed geek.

Any upcoming works we should know about?

My New Year’s resolution says that this year I must publish 12 books! If I don’t kill myself trying, lol. Well, I have a release at the end of January. It’s book three in Return of the Originals and it’s called His Imperfect Mate. For those who have read the previous books, the couple in this one is a surprise even for me. These characters just demanded out of the blue to be written.

Another thing I just found out is that Inkstained Succubus accepted my first Sci Fi story and they’re going to publish it in Somewhere Out There Anthology in March. Really excited about it!  I may have some other surprises in the oven…hehehe
