Today we have Pelmus Razvan with us — the young author who wrote Reborn From Blood, a tale of lost love and hatred. Check out our exclusive interview with the author where we talk about his work, inspirations, and future projects!

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I live in Romania, in a small town called Campulung (hard to pronounce in English). I am currently 20 years old but will turn 21 in April. My passions are creative writing, reading and playing video games. I dream that someday I can write a bestseller, or travel around the world.

When did you realize you were a writer?

All of a sudden! I was reading a book one night (from the Vampire Academy series, can’t recall which volume)  and the next morning I woke up to this insane desire: “Dude! You should write a book, you can do it,’’ I said encouragingly to myself until I actually wrote the first chapter of Reborn From Blood. That day I had found my calling.

I have two authors in mind. Richelle Mead, as her main character from the Bloodlines series resembles me a lot and I really took comfort seeing the way he evolves in the series (my favorite being the third book in the series). The second is Paulo Coelho. I really admired his works, my favorite being The Alchemist. It’s very strong material about the force of destiny and the way the universe does everything in its power to help achieving it.

They both inspired me in the same way.

What can you tell us about Reborn From Blood? What kind of readers will it appeal to?

YA readers mostly, as the book has fast-paced action, with some elements of drama that will appeal to them.

What are your thoughts about self and traditional publishing?

I did think of that, but there aren’t so many in my country and the few already have their featured authors, and this is why I took my chances with self-publishing.

Any upcoming works we should know about? What’s next for you?

The next part in Reborn From Blood, which will have three parts, or maybe this will be the last part. I’m still thinking about it. I won’t say much about it, but I do want to say that this one will have a much darker ambiance so to speak, and I really doubt that it will be in the YA categories.

I do realize that changing the category in the middle of a series is unheard of but this feels right to me.
