Gishwhes 2017 Is Upon Us! Register Now!

Gishwhes 2017 registration is officially open. Get your teams together and let’s compete and have some fun!

For those that aren’t aware, Gishwhes (The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen) is an international scavenger hunt that combines art, stunts, performance, charitable acts, and other tasks for a week long photo and video competition. Thousands of members participate in groups of 15 aiming for the top prize: a trip with their team mates and scavenger hunt host Misha Collins.  Each year features a new mascott, color scheme, and trip destination.  Gishwhes 2017 is unique as this year’s mascot is the non-binary Porcupanda.  The winning trip is to Hawaii and the color theme for the year is purple.  And apparently space themed too!  We get an additional theme on top of the color, it seems.

Gishwhes 2017 will take place August 5th-12th 2017 and has a long list of commandments and FAQ‘s that both new and old players may find enlightening.  If you’re new to the hunt, the testimonials may also be of interest to you.  We’ve also broken four world records.  We’ve also had a huge kindness impact, if you’re into that sort of thing.

The Geekiary has two teams on staff this year. Myself and Emily Rose are representing Team Subtext, while our new editor Khai is from Team Kale of the Lord.  Both of our teams have been runners-up for many years in a row and each year we’ve interviewed the winning team (2014, 2015, 2016).  Will we be interviewing ourselves this year? Who knows!  Either way, we look forward to the hunt and hope to see many of you out and about as we work to complete the task list.
