Hit the Floor has one of the most passionate fandoms I have seen and fans aren’t ready to leave the Devil’s Arena just yet. Using #DevilWithAHardOn4HTF5, a fan campaign has begun to let BET know it should greenlight Hit the Floor season 5.

A #Thongs4HTF4 renewal campaign was initiated by fans back in 2016 and the result was the show being picked up by BET. With the season 4 finale having aired this Tuesday, fans are still waiting to receive an announcement from BET about the series coming back for a fifth offering.

So, of course, the fandom has taken things into their own hands because they want a Hit the Floor season 5. They are banding together under #DevilWithAHardOn4HTF5.

I can’t show the images being used or talk about the stuff you should send to BET in this post because of certain Google-related restrictions, but I am sure enjoying the enthusiasm being shown for Hit the Floor season 5!

Will the current campaign work? I have my fingers crossed because I am a fan of Hit the Floor and I feel a series featuring a diverse cast and impressive queer representation (along with an enjoyable story) should continue to grace our TV screens.

An important factor to analyze when determining whether a show is likely to return is ratings. After being picked up by BET, Hit the Floor season 4 premiered with a 0.20 in the 18-49 demo and 0.48 million viewers. The finale got a 0.12 in the 18-49 demo with 0.32 million viewers.

Now, on first glance, these demo numbers are quite low. However, you need to understand every network has a different demo requirement.

For example, the first season of Siren (another show we review and are fans of) was able to stabilize itself with a 0.2 demo rating for most of its run and got renewed for a longer second season by Freeform. But these demo ratings aren’t great for a show on a network such as NBC.

Also, BET’s In Contempt premiered back in April with a 0.19 demo rating and performed more or less similarly to Hit the Floor season 4.

I don’t know what demo numbers BET considers a success so I’m unsure about whether or not Hit the Floor will be renewed for a fifth season by the network.

Anyway, it is still fun to see the #DevilWithAHardOn4HTF5 being a thing. Maybe it will urge BET to give the fans what they want? Let’s see.

Will we get a Hit the Floor season 5? Feel free to share your thoughts with us!

    1. HAHAHAHA! GREAT! … BET needs to give fans a Hit the Floor Season 5. I’m even okay with 8 or 10 episodes as long as I know the series will continue.
