‘Hit the Floor’ Summer Special Greenlit by VH1!

Hit the Floor Title

Fans of Hit the Floor are anxious to find out when they’ll be getting a season 4. However, while VH1 hasn’t confirmed a fourth season yet, we will be getting an hour-long special summer episode. It’ll be barely enough to get us through the hiatus, but I’ll take it!

According to VH1, the special episode will be about Ahsha and Derek’s big wedding day. But in true Hit the Floor style, you can be sure it’ll be accompanied by a whole lot of drama as well. The special episode will also explore the mystery behind Jelena’s shooter. I was expecting season 3 to end with a bang but I had no idea creator James LaRosa would go after Jelena in the way he did.  Season 3 has been full of twists and turns and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds. Also, Jelena better be alive because actress Logan Browning is one of the reasons I enjoy watching Hit the Floor. She did an amazing job showing viewers a whole different side to Jelena.

Our beloved couple Zude will also have an important decision to make. The last time we saw Zero he was clearly angry at Jelana because she made the decision to trade him after getting ownership of the Devils. While the trade wouldn’t have been such a big problem for Zero, Jude insisting to stay behind in order to help Lionel is what threatened to cause a rift between them. I wonder what “life-changing decision” those two will have to make in the upcoming summer special.

VH1 hasn’t announced an airdate for the one hour summer special yet. I’ll keep you all updated as soon as I find out.

Now there are some fans that are worried about the show’s renewal. The identity of Jelena’s shooter was supposedly the big mystery going into season 4 but the announcement of a summer special is being seen as the series finale. Is VH1 giving us a special in order to conclude the story and thus, sees no need to green light a season 4? I hope not! The world needs shows that promote diversity.
