Injustice 2 Is Bigger, Better, and Stronger – Game Review

Injustice 2 game review supergirl

I enjoyed playing Injustice: Gods Among Us when it came out in 2013. And I’m happy to say that Injustice 2 expands on the original and makes everything better!

Hours of gameplay makes it worth the price tag. You can go through the Injustice 2 single-player story mode or fight other players online. The graphics are also quite nice and the character movements are as fluid as they can be for a fighting game.

The super moves for heroes and villains have been updated and are a joy to watch onscreen. Some of them, like Harley’s, are fantastically gruesome. The gameplay is similar to Injustice: Gods Among Us. You still have to fill the character’s meter to use their moves. Each character also comes with their own set of unique combos.

What has changed is the speed. The characters move faster and some of the A.I. can be deadly if you aren’t paying attention. Your safest bet is to throw them in the air and use juggle combos.

Even if you don’t like fighting other players, there is still a lot of single-player content to keep you busy. Depending on your skill, the story mode (including cutscenes) will take you anywhere from four to eight hours to complete. Each chapter focuses on certain characters. If a chapter has two characters, you can select which one you want to use during battles. There are a total of 29 playable characters.

The main story deals with Superman and Batman coming together to fight Brainiac. It also introduces Supergirl, who’s trying to make sense of why her cousin is feared around the world.

In the Multiverse Mode, you can level up characters and enhance stats by equipping gears. Rare and common gear pieces help to augment health, strength, defence, or ability. The rarer and legendary gear can offer effects such your character already having their ability meter stocked to a certain extent, changing the size of projectiles, and more. Selecting which gear you want your hero to equip makes for a fun customization experience. You can also customize outfits.

Loot crates (that include gear) can be earned by completing achievements. You can earn loot by completing chapters in the story mode, doing well in Multiverse matches, and even by completing tutorials.

I for one enjoyed playing Injustice 2 and I’m already looking forward to the next installment.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Injustice 2 is currently available for iOS, Android, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

A limited edition Harley Quinn “Red, Black, and White” series statue was also released. Make sure to check out my review.

Have you played Injustice 2 yet? What did you think? Let us know.
