Kit Harington Used Jon Snow’s Fate to Get Out of Speeding Ticket

Jon Snow's Fate

Some lucky cop out there learned about Jon Snow’s fate before the rest of us because he was lucky enough to pull a speeding Kit Harington over.

First of all, tsk tsk Mr. Harington.  You shouldn’t be speeding.  But major props to the police officer who didn’t spill the beans about Jon Snow’s fate to the world even though he had information pretty much every geek on the planet has been after since the end of last season’s Game of Thrones.  One plucky journalist even sent the White House a Freedom of Information Act inquiry in an effort to learn this bit of information.  This is some very serious stuff, guys.

On Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Harrington recounted the experience.  “You can either follow me back to the police station now where I’ll book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of Game of Thrones,” the officer told him.  “I looked at him, and went, ‘I’m alive next season.’  He goes, ‘On your way Lord Commander. Keep the speed down this far south of the Wall.”

Besides that one lone police officer who has far more will power to keep a secret that huge than I do, Harington also told a few close family members.  There are conflicting reports on whether his girlfriend, former Game of Thrones co-star Leslie Rose, was in the know about his fate.  I’d love to know what Harington’s Non-Disclosure Agreement stated about who he was an wasn’t allowed to tell.  “Close friends, girlfriend, and one police officer?”

Either way, it’s quite an epic tale.  Congrats for escaping a ticket, Mr. Harington.  And kudos to you mysterious officer.  I’d never been able to keep that to myself.  Thank god nobody gives me that kind of power.
