There’s new casting news for the upcoming Marvel/Sony Spider-Man movie! Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori are set to join Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, and Zendaya in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Deadline reports that Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Dope)  has been cast as Peter Parker’s high school nemesis – but apparently he’s not Flash Thompson and he’s not a villain either, so who knows. Relative unknown Laura Harrier (One Life to Live) is also set to appear in Spider-Man’s next adventure. According to The Wrap Harrier’s role is significant, but that’s all we know so far.

With reviews of Captain America: Civil War suggesting that Tom Holland is pretty great, people are starting to get a little hyped. Personally I’m still not sold on the concept of YET ANOTHER Spider-Man movie, but I will admit that what we know doesn’t sound terrible.

It’s not an origin story, which is a relief. Peter Parker is an actual teenage super-hero; it’s a coming-of-age movie. Aunt May is being played by Marisa Tomei. Kevin Feige has suggested that the film will “be a ‘John Hughes’ movie.” Also Spider-Man might be white but his classmates are not, with Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier and Zendaya as a mysterious character named Michelle.

Director Tim Miller has apparently – according to ComicBook.com – said that he wants to attempt to build bridges with 20th Century Fox to get Deadpool in a movie with Spider-Man. This is not likely as the relationship between Marvel and 20th Century Fox appeared fairly strained. Plus, with Peter Parker being in high school, the dynamic between him and Deadpool could be a little creepy.

In other news, Michael Keaton is apparently in talks to play one of the film’s villains, which is cool I guess. I don’t know, I’m still a little meh on more Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release on July 7th, 2017.
