Geekiary News Briefs! Logan Red-Band Trailer, Power Rangers Helmets, and More

Logan Wolverine Hugh Jackman

Welcome to today’s Geekiary News Briefs! We’ll be covering the new Logan trailer, taking a closer look at the Power Rangers helmets, Generation X, and more!

Let’s go over all of the X-Men news first. The trailer for Logan has been released. It looks interesting but I’ll have to wait until I see the movie to actually share my opinion. The previous two Wolverine solo-titles haven’t been impressive so fingers crossed Fox does a good job. Third time’s the charm, right?

Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine along with Patrick Stewart as Professor X. Logan will hit theaters on March 3, 2017. Check out the red-band trailer for Logan. They finally showed Wolverine use his claws in the way they were meant to be!

Adding to the Marvel’s very mysterious ResurrXion event, Generation X will be released sometime in 2017. No creative team has been announced as of yet. The upcoming title joins Iceman, Jean Grey, and Weapon X in what feels like a re-launch of the X-Men Comic Book franchise.

Robin Lord Taylor, the breakout star of Gotham, shared how he connected with Penguin. The iconic DC Comics villain was bullied as a child and an outcast. This led to Robin finding a connection with him. “Growing up overweight and gay in small-town Iowa as a kid in the 80s and 90s, it was much different than it is now, and I know exactly what that feels like,” he told Fuse.

Vin Diesel is of the opinion that Fast 8 will provide director F. Gary Gray with his “comeuppance” after being snubbed by the Oscars for Straight Outta Compton.  “I think he went into making this movie with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, going ‘Oh, really? OK. Now I’m going to take the biggest saga in the world, and I’m about to throw Oscars at you. Wait till you see what he does!” he told Entertainment Tonight.

The Power Rangers official Twitter account shared a closer look at the helmets. After watching the teaser trailer I’m not sure if I’ll be into the dark tone the reboot’s going for. What do you think of the new helmets?

The 2D brawler titled Blast Brawl 2: Bloody Boogaloo is coming to Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview on the 25th of October, 2016. It is a fast-paced brawler where a single hit means game over.

Talking about another 2D platformer, Spryke has launched Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaigns. Developer Dave Bleja is looking at a November 2017 release date. Check out the Kickstarter Video which also includes gameplay. Spryke’s soundtrack is wonderful.

Feel free to share your thoughts about today’s Geekiary News Briefs with us. Are you looking forward to Logan? Will Fast 8 really be Oscar-worthy? Let us know!
