Loot Crate’s Loot Pets: An Exciting New Offering

Loot Crate Loot Pets

I honestly can’t describe how excited I was to hear that Loot Crate was releasing a new subscription called Loot Pets, meant especially for geeky pet owners.

As the proud momma of two amazing dogs and three beautiful cats, I am always on the lookout for fun geeky items for them – but until recently there hasn’t been much out there that fit the bill. The ability to subscribe to Loot Pets, a service that sends a fun assortment of geek culture themed pet products every month, seemed perfect.

When I grabbed the package off my porch the other day, I set it down right inside the door while I took care of a few things. I returned a few minutes later to find my cat Marmalade sitting right next to it and looking at me expectantly, a telltale sign that there was food inside. I couldn’t imagine what the food option would be, so of course I had to open it right away and find out!

The other two Loot Crates I’ve received (check out my “unboxing” videos for the first Loot Crate Level Up I received here, and their special Star Wars Level Up package here!) came in bags, but I have to say that the box for Loot Pets was awesome in and of itself. Plus it came with the usual Loot Crate booklet explaining the items included, but the inaugural one also had a few pages at the end dedicated to animals featured in geek culture – including Jones the cat from Alien, Superman’s dog Krypto, and Ein from Cowboy Bebop.

I was right about this particular Loot Crate containing food – in this case, freeze dried beef liver treats called Galactic Snaps. They’re 100% beef liver, made in the USA, and my dogs loved them.

Along the theme of “pets in space”, my first Loot Pets box also included a small ceramic Firefly-themed bowl perfect for food or water for cats or small dogs, a quality dog collar from Alien‘s Weyland-Yutani Corp (with a quick-release buckle – PERFECT), and a doggie t-shirt with a space/sci-fi-themed “ugly Christmas sweater” pattern. The t-shirt is very soft, and I was super excited for my boy Rigby to wear it over Christmas…though I didn’t have very good luck getting him to sit still for a proper picture in it! (You’d think this dog was still a puppy, but no, he’s approaching eleven years old!)

All in all, I was extremely happy with the selection and quality of the items in Loot Crate’s Loot Pets box. Christmas may be over, but you can bet Rigby will be wearing that t-shirt at least once more before the New Year…and those Galactic Snaps treats are already almost gone. To be honest, I already can’t wait to see what the next Loot Pets offerings are!

Disclaimer: I received this Loot Crate for free in exchange for an unbiased review.
