MegaCon Tampa Bay: More Promising Every Day!

MegaCon Tampa Bay

Just before MegaCon Orlando this year, they announced that they would be hosting another Florida-based convention – MegaCon Tampa Bay, which is scheduled for October 28th-30th, 2016.

Despite this being MegaCon’s first year venturing to a city other than Orlando, the VIP tickets to MegaCon Tampa Bay are already sold out. But don’t worry – you can still get weekend tickets for just $60 in advance ($65 at the door), as well as single-day tickets starting at $25. There is also a Premium ticket available for $89 – this ticket must be purchased in advance, but it does include priority entrance to the show floor, an exclusive lithograph, and more!MegaCon Tampa Bay Vendors

When MegaCon Tampa Bay was announced there were several awesome guests already slated to attend, and that list has expanded quite a bit in the past couple of weeks. Fans will have a chance to meet David Tennant of Dr. Who and Jessica Jones fame; Billie Piper, who played Rose on Dr. Who and more recently portrayed the amazing Brona/Lily in Showtime’s Penny Dreadful; Matthew Lewis, who is best known as fan-favorite Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter films; and Star Trek actors William Shatner and Karl Urban.

MegaCon is also known for gathering some great animation and comics guests, and MegaCon Tampa Bay is no exception. Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, Marvel cover artists Jeff Dekal, Steve Blum from Star Wars Rebels, and Will Friedle from Batman Beyond (and Boy Meets World!) are all on the guest list…among many others.

I attended MegaCon Orlando as a cosplay guest this year, and I’m excited to be part of MegaCon Tampa Bay in the same capacity! Other cosplay guests include Marie Claude Bourbonnais, Lauren See, Scarlett Rose, and Siren Croft, with the possibility of more being announced within the next few weeks.

While programming won’t be announced until one to two weeks before MegaCon Tampa Bay, they’ll of course have guest panels, workshops, sketch duels between comic artists, and more!
