‘Midnighter & Apollo’ Issue 1 Preview Amps Up The Action! Releasing This October!

Midnighter and Apollo Cover 1 DC Comics

For those of you who have been waiting for the Midnighter & Apollo miniseries to be released, the preview for the first issue is here and it is awesome!

The Midnighter & Apollo miniseries was announced back in July of 2016. It was a treat for fans after the Midnighter solo series got canceled earlier this year. One of the exciting things about the upcoming series is that it is being written by Steve Orlando.

Steve is bisexual, and Midnighter played an important role in his life. “Getting to write a character that helped me when I was younger and boost the signal to a new generation has been an honor.” (via The New York Times)

Midnighter is known to be brutal during his fights and that’s exactly what fans get in the released preview. He seems to be looking for some kids. I didn’t get most of the plot but I am excited to see the kind of story the miniseries will be telling.

“MIDNIGHTER AND APOLLO is the book we need right now, as comics’ most iconic queer couple face down a new enemy and show us that we can never give in to fear, hatred, and evil,” says Orlando. “And they do it with their own brand of action movie wit… and punching. I won’t just deliver fans the much-anticipated return of Apollo. I’ll also feature the Lords of the Gun and the iconic Mawzir from DC’s seminal Hitman, as well as Underworld Unleashed’s Neron. And that’s just the beginning. It’s a knockdown, drag out, DC Universe western revenge thriller that starts kicking from page one!” (via CBR)

Midnighter & Apollo Issue 1 will be released on the 5th of October, 2016. The art is by Fernando Blanco while the colors are by Romulo Fajardo Jr. It will retail for $2.99 (USD).

  1. Somehow this had completely passed my notice, but this news makes me so incredibly happy. I was so sad when they cancelled midnighter, as hes one of my all time favorite characters. I am just sitting here with the biggest grin. Also, Steve Orlando is a brilliant writer so knowing he will be taking up the mantle again just makes it even better.

    1. I know right! The Midnighter solo series was awesome!…really looking forward to the miniseries. Maybe if it performs well we might see it continue…fingers crossed!
