Naruto Shippuden to Explore Kaguya Otsutsuki’s Past Next Week

Kaguya Otsutsuki Naruto Shippuden

The Naruto Shippuden anime is no stranger to filler. And while a lot of the filler arcs in the series have been boring, I have hope that the upcoming arc will provide viewers with a somewhat entertaining story by diving deeper into Kaguya Otsutsuki’s past.

Naruto Shippuden returned to the manga canon after completing the anime adaptation of Itachi Shinden in the episode titled ‘Partner’ and proceeded to reveal the final antagonist, a powerful God-like being named Kaguya Otsutsuki, in ‘Truth’. She is known as the mother of all chakra and also gave birth to Hagoromo and Hamura.

While Kaguya is the final villain in the Naruto manga, fans never really got to know much about her past. However, that’s going to change as far as the anime is concerned because starting with episode 460, titled ‘Kaguya Otsutsuki’, the writers of the show will be delivering new content that’ll explore her backstory. The fact that we only know the basics about her from the manga means that there is a lot the anime can explore.

Now, I’m weary of Naruto Shippuden fillers as much as the next person. They have been known to be so bad that I had to stop watching as well as reviewing them for months. But the writers sometimes do provide filler arcs that are enjoyable. I liked the Chunin Exams arc as well as the Itachi Shinden arc even though they both had some low points in storytelling. That is why I have some hope that the upcoming Kaguya Otsutsuki arc might end up being enjoyable to watch. I’ve always wanted to know more about her character and fingers crossed the anime writers don’t ruin her.

‘Kaguya Otsutsuki’ will air on May 12, 2016. There’s no current word regarding how long the arc will last or if some part of canon material will be integrated in the story.

Are you watching the Naruto Shippuden anime? What are your thoughts regarding the upcoming filler arc? Let us know.
