Naruto x 671Review: Naruto and the Sage of the Six Paths
Okay, let’s get one thing straight: Masashi Kishimoto’s super popular Naruto is quite predictable. It’s tough to bring a surprise element when your story has been focusing on a rivalry between two friends for years. But this week’s manga chapter release brought a very shocking surprise and I found myself interested in the series again.
I have nothing against good vs. evil storylines as long as the hero isn’t way too good. Naruto doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and it reminds me of Goku from Dragon Ball Z. You know, a hero who wants to protect everyone, is super powerful, dumb on occasions, and hasn’t done anything wrong. I would prefer Naruto to have more layers.
Naruto is still in conversation with the Sage of the Six Paths and we get to know more about the reincarnations of Indra and Ashura. Kishimoto also gave a flashback that linked to how Naruto guessed Sasuke was a reincarnation of Ashura. It seems the two have been rivals since the beginning and the previous reincarnations were Hashirama and Madara. As the powerful Uchiha didn’t die and fused Hashirama cells with himself he became something close to the Sage, which was a big no-no because too much power corrupts.
The one and eight tailed beasts pop up, courtesy of Obito, and the Sage asks the young hero a question before he can give him a power boost. That’s where the big surprise came in. I was not expecting Sasuke being in conversation with the Sage, too. I’m really curious about the answer he gave because it was not mentioned in the chapter. I want to know what he said in order to convince the Sage to give him a power boost, too.
As far as I can tell, Naruto, being Ashura, would be getting the power of all the tailed beasts while Sasuke will be getting the Rinnengan. They will both have to team-up in order to take down Madara who doesn’t seem too tired fighting with Might Guy in the last page.
It was an enjoyable chapter, especially the Sasuke reveal, and I’m excited for the next issue to come out. I don’t think Might Guy will be able to defeat Madara even with his final attack. I also have a feeling something will happen that will help the antagonist to recoup all his lost energy, so he’ll be able to take on Naruto and Sasuke using his full power.
Speaking of the two boys, I’m quite sure Sasuke has something up his sleeve and Naruto will have to battle his friend in the end. We all know it’s supposed to happen!
Kishimoto isn’t known for writing strong female characters but I have a feeling Sakura will play a role quite soon. She wasn’t happy about the young Uchiha’s return and knew something was up. She’s the female lead of the story after all, and even the secondary characters have done more than her.

This chapter for me was super epic awsome. I wasn’t really expecting Sasuke to pop up and as soon as I saw the page with the sage giving his staff to both Naruto and Sasuke, I immediatly thought: “Fusion!” Who knows.. Naruto has been inspired by DBZ, so it wouldn’t be that suprising. But man, what a awsome chapter Kishi delevered this week. Although, I’m a bit dissapointed that I didn’t see how Madara and Might Guy duke it out, but could tell they’re probably even in strength. Which got me thinking, would Madara still have difficulty against Guy if Obito didn’t took out the One Tail and Hachibi from him and I’m a bit confuse about when the Sage was talking about his mother, but refering to her in as everyone elses’ mom. Either it was some translation error or I didn’t read it correctly. O well, I can’t wait to read next week’s chapter and hoping to see what’s Guy’s final attack?
I don’t want Naruto and Sasuke to fuse together..they kind of did that in the whole ‘Kurama/Sasunoo’ thing, but who knows…i was expecting Naruto to get a powerup but Sasuke getting one from the Sage was quite surprising. I want to know his answer to the Sage. Lol at Sakura for thinking she managed to catch up to them when Team 7 reunited 😉
I want more of the Might Guy and Madara fight…yes Madara is getting his butt kicked but i think he’s letting Guy attack him to see the true power of releasing all the gates. Once Guy does his final attack, Madara will get bored and end the fight
I was confused about the mother thing too. I think it had to do something with the translation.
For me.. I don’t like this team up.. because the Manga title is supposed to be Naruto.. Not Naruto and Sasuke.. or lost brothers @ all..lol So normally the main Hero should be Naruto.. Thinking about him to become the next S06 path would be nice. I think a lot of fans has been disappointed same as me.. Cause all what we are waiting is to see the final battle
I HONESTLY FEEL LIKE WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN IS THIS MADARA WILL GET HIS OTHER EYE FROM BLACK ZETSU AND ALSO ABSORB HIM BECUASE IF YOU CAN REMEMBER HE IS MADARAS ENERGY OR ESSENCE IF YOU WILL I THINK HE DID THAT AS A BACK UP JUST IN CASE WHEN HE CAME BACK IF HE GOT HURT AND OF COURSE HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT ANYONE AND USES THEM AT ALL COST FAR AS SASKUE FOR SURE HE WILL HAVE RINNEGAN AS I THOUGHT TO SHOW HIS TRUE VISUAL POWERS CUZ HE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITH EMS BUT GET HIS ASS KICKED.WITH THAT BEING SAID NARUTO WILL EITHER HAVE RINNEGAN AS WELL OR BE ABLE TO SUMMON THE TEN TAILS ONE OF THOSE 2 POWERS AND IM SURE HE WILL HAVE A CLOAK AND STAFF AS WELL LIKE THE SAGE IM SURE WHEN HE POWERS UP. BUT GREAT CHAPTERS LATELY EVEN FILLERS WITH SHOW HAS BEEN GREAT.

I think after the war, sasuke will absorb all the energy and disappear,
or naruto did it ? well, he is the main but
since all the bad is happen because people who has power become greedy and try to attack another because their different
when everything become same, just like madara wants, it going to solve everything, so instead of giving it, why don’t make it back to tree form
if madara and kaguya can do it, sasuke is the only one that can do it in the series, so all eye will gone and all people with start a new life
even thought i don’t want sasuke die, I badly like his character, his journey is rough and even more rough compared to naruto for me

I have been following Naruto and Naruto Shippuden animated series, but when i read the above story it is completely different.
Can any one tell what manga is this because the above story is completely different from the animated manga.

The animated series still needs time to ‘catch up’ with the manga, which has now ended. So, keep watching the animated series and soon enough you will get to the part of the story that’s talked about in the above post 🙂
