Boruto: Naruto Next Generations 1×35 Review: The Parent Teacher Conference

Boruto anime review The Parent Teacher Conference Kakashi Sukea

This week’s episode of Boruto helped viewers understand more about how the fictional world has changed after Naruto. Being a ninja isn’t a priority anymore, and ‘The Parent Teacher Conference’ showed other careers students from the Academy can pursue.

When Naruto and the rest were kids, the Academy would churn out Genins at an exceptional rate to go and fight during troubled times. However, things are quite different for Boruto and the new generation. ‘The Parent Teacher Conference’ was an enjoyable episode that talked about how the peaceful nature of the world led to a decrease in ninjas.

Now, Academy students can decide not to graduate as Genins and instead continue a regular academic curriculum if they prefer. A lot of Boruto’s classmates were shown selecting different career paths. The episode also focused a bit on Boruto not being entirely sure what kind of ninja he wants to become. Boruto’s indecisiveness made sense considering he won’t figure out his ninja path until the events of Boruto: Naruto the Movie.

Salad, as a character, is a lot more determined about her path. As a future Hokage candidate, she always gives her best at the Academy. Also, with a slight push from Boruto, she helped two of her classmates handle a disagreement. Mitsuki, on the other hand, is clearly in love with Boruto (fight me!) and is all about sticking as close to our little hero as possible.

Sumire wanting to become a ninja felt weird considering her career path shown in the latest Boruto manga chapter. I wonder what’ll make her change her mind.

The big reveal featured in ‘The Parent Teacher Conference’ was Kakashi talking to Academy students as Sukea. We got to know about Kakashi’s disguise during a bonus manga issue. But it was still fun to watch Boruto interact with Sukea and not realizing who he was really talking to.

Turns out Kakashi will be serving as the proctor during the upcoming graduation exam and he doesn’t intend on making things easy. I was actually surprised that the current Academy students had to go through a tougher exam, compared to the past generations, even though being a ninja isn’t a big deal anymore.
