Earlier today, five new teaser posters were released for Lionsgate’s upcoming Power Rangers reboot; one poster for each Ranger, including a glimpse at their new zords.

Take a look at the new character posters below:

Power Rangers Jason
Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger
Power Rangers Billy
RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger
Power Rangers Kimberly
Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger
Power Rangers Trini
Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger
Power Rangers Zack
Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger

Along with the posters, which were released on the film’s official Twitter, it was announced that there will be a Power Rangers panel at next month’s New York Comic Con, to be held at the theater at Madison Square Garden.

The Power Rangers franchise began with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which debuted in 1993. Produced by Saban, the show took much of its fighting footage from the Japanese show Super Sentai and coupled that with new scenes featuring the American actors (whose voices were also dubbed over the original Japanese footage).

The show focused on five teenagers in the small town of Angel Grove who are chosen by a mysterious giant head in a tube named Zordon (Bryan Cranston in the new film) to fight an alien threat named Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks). The teens use their martial arts skills along with unique weapons and large mechanical creatures known as zords, which can be combined to form Megazord. Judging by the reuse of the original names, it stands to reason that the new movie will attempt to recreate the same story.

I was obsessed with Power Rangers when I was younger, even though I pretended I wasn’t because I was “too old” for the show, or it just wasn’t considered cool where I grew up. (This is where having a younger sibling comes in handy. My sister was my excuse for many things.) I especially loved Jason, and I shipped him and Kimberly before I even knew what shipping was. (There was a notebook and tally marks involved.) Curse Tommy (the Green-later-White Ranger, who doesn’t appear to be in the reboot) for getting in between my original OTP.

The reboot has some pretty heavy star power behind it in Cranston and Banks, as well as a diverse cast. (It also did not make the black kid be the Black Ranger and the Asian kid be the Yellow Ranger, which was kind of an iffy decision on the original show’s part.) So, odds are pretty good that I’ll be schlepping to a theater to see it when it comes out in March of 2017. I’m not expecting Oscar-worthy performances, because the original series was ridiculous. As long as I’m entertained, I’ll be satisfied.

What do you guys think of the new posters? Are you excited for the reboot?
