Ample Hills Creamery Star Wars The Last Jedi Limited Edition Ice Cream review
Ample Hills Creamery Star Wars The Last Jedi Limited Edition 3 Pack

While we all wait for Star Wars: The Last Jedi to hit theatres on December 15, 2017, Ample Hills Creamery has got you covered with their Limited Edition Star Wars: The Last Jedi inspired 3-Pack Ice Cream flavors. The delicious flavors are paired with exceptional artwork to offer an amazingly indulgent experience.

I was provided the Limited Edition Star Wars Ice Cream pack for review by Ample Hills Creamery. The opinions are my own.

For those of you wondering if you should go and buy these new ice cream flavors from Ample Hill Creamery (in collaboration with Disney and Lucasfilm), I recommend that you should. The company ships nationwide and you can also order from their official website. It’s currently priced at $30. You won’t regret it.

Now, for those of you who want to know why I recommend you try these new flavors, let’s get on with the full review!

The Packaging!

I love it when things are well packaged. Ample Hills Creamery wasn’t joking about paying tribute to the franchise. The cardboard box features beautiful, original artwork designed by the company’s Art Director Lauren Kaelin. The watercolor art is gorgeous to look at. Also, the flaps of the box have a punch-out X-wing fighter (shown in the video below). The little X-wing is easy to put together. It’s isn’t anything too great but it’s a fun thing to have if you’re a Star Wars fan. However, I would’ve preferred it to be made from thin plastic rather than cardboard.

Taking out the styrofoam cover, you’ll get to see the three ice cream containers placed neatly inside. Each container has specific artwork that corresponds with the flavor.

The ‘First Order’ container’s artwork has Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, some Stormtroopers, and a Praetorian Guard. The ‘Resistance’ container shows Finn, Poe, Rose, Chewbacca, C-3PO, BB-8, and General Leia Organa (rest in peace Carrie Fisher). The container for ‘The Force’ has Rey, Luke Skywalker, Porgs, and R2-D2. The lids of each container showcase a different vehicle.

The artwork (which I’m guessing is watercolor too) is gorgeous. You’ll definitely end up keeping these containers once all of the ice cream is gone.

The Taste Test!

Coming to the flavors being offered by the Limited Edition Star Wars 3-Pack, this is what Ample Hills Creamery has to say:

First Order ice cream flavor: A celebration of the monolithic, fierce power of the First Order. Embrace relentless villainy with this salted deep dark chocolate ice cream, made with intense cocoa powder, bittersweet chocolate and a dash of powerful espresso.

Resistance ice cream flavor: A celebration of the spirit and determination of the motley band of resistance fighters, it’s a brown sugar and vanilla bean ice cream with a wild assortment of mix-ins: passionate, fiery red velvet ooey gooey butter cake, hard-edged toffee pieces and spirited, hopeful mini-marshmallows.

The Force ice cream flavor: A celebration of the power and beauty of the Jedi. Bring balance to the Force with the harmony and serenity of this sweet cream ice cream (the light side), but beware the seductive swirls of rich chocolate fudge (the dark side) – an epic conflict set against a galaxy of white and dark chocolate pearls.

While all three flavors are tasty, the Resistance was clearly the winner for me. Not only did it have a nice consistency to it, the “fiery red-velvet ooey gooey butter cake” is everything! After that one, I’d give second place to the First Order, and The Force gets third place. Of course, you might end up with a different favorite depending on your taste in ice creams.

I recorded an entire Ample Hills Creamery Limited Edition Star Wars The Last Jedi 3-Pack unboxing and taste test video, with some help from my friend because he wanted to be the first to taste these. So, check it out!

The company has released Star Wars inspired ice cream before and I hope the trend continues.
