Playmates Toys “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Babble Heads Review

Playmates Toys continues to come through with their Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles products. I have to say that the interactive Rise of the TMNT Babble Heads are amazing. Especially considering the price tag they come with.

I was provided the Rise of the TMNT Babble Heads free for review. The opinions are my own. 

I had the pleasure to review a set of the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Babble heads and let me tell you, I was blown away by the sheer complexity of these little guys. The pair I got included Motormouth Mikey (the fun-loving brother who never fails to mention his craving for pizza) and the eldest brother, Loudmouth Leo (the leader of the team).

Each interactive figure comes with a single weapon. Mikey has a kusari-fundo. His enthusiastic banter allows him to say stuff like, “All right ya little mischief-maker, what’s the plan?” and “Can we get some pizza?”

Yes, Mikey, we can go for pizza just as long as you keep that flailing weapon away from me!

With Loudmouth Leo, you get his Odachi sword and cool one-liners including, “Together, we took down the bad guys,” and “Rise and shine sewer squad!”

These plastic ninjas have sensors in their head, arms, and chest. Striking the sensors leads to different phrases being uttered, depending on the location of the sensor and whether their weapon is equipped. There are more than 50 sound effects and phrases to enjoy.

With their shells having a clip, the turtles can easily attach to certain surfaces if you want to bring them along somewhere.

Each toy comes with a manual. The instructions are simple to follow. It provides you with battery information along with how to get the most out of your turtle depending on how you interact with the sensors.

The hard plastic makes them super durable. They can definitely withstand some accidental falls. The quality of the plastic also allows for the colors to truly shine. Each toy is vibrant green with the bandana (and other accessories) matching the turtle’s color preference.

The sound effects are loud and clear. It’s so much fun to listen to their distinct voices and combat effects. The motions are on point and fluid. These toys offer eye movement, mouth movement, head-turning, and arm movement. A switch is present on the side to turn these turtles on or off.

Making all four turtles talk at once is going to be such a blast!

The MSRP puts these guys at $19.99 each. They’re recommended for ages 4 and up. These interactive babble heads will be available Fall 2019 at mass retailers nationwide from Playmates Toys.
