This week’s manga issue of Bleach showed what the other characters were doing while Kenpachi was getting attacked by the team of female Sternritters. The person who came to Kenpachi’s rescue was finally revealed, and by the looks of things, the good guys are in need of all the help they can get.

I never thought of Omaeda as an important character. I’ve mostly ignored him when it comes to power level. But the issue showed him keeping his ground against his attackers in order to protect his sister and Captain Soi Fong. Soul Society seems to have run out of healers. Where is Orihime? People are dying left and right, or are gravely injured. However, Captain Hirako came to Omaeda’s aid, along with Momo, and took out the evil fodder. Hirako and Omaeda talked about going to help Kenpachi. The Captain even went on to say why the Sternritters were attacking Kenpachi. With one of the most powerful Shinigami out of their way, the antagonists would surely come closer to winning the battle. Before Hirako and Omaeda could act, Bazz-B showed up in order to stop the two from rushing to Kenpachi’s side. With the condition Hirako is in, I don’t think he can even try to battle Bazz-B because the Sternritter defeated Histsugaya with ease. I hope a leveled up Hitsugaya appears soon and puts the fire powered Sternritter in his rightful place. That battle needs to happen!

Rukia and her brother noticed thunderbolts falling in Kenpachi’s location. I’m still waiting for a fight where Rukia can hold her own without any help from her brother. Rukia isn’t a weak character, but she seems to rely on her brother too much. She’s the first one to notice a familiar reiatsu making its way from the sky. That’s where I got the hint that it was Ichigo coming to help Kenpachi. Rukia and Ichigo have one of the best platonic friendships. I wish I could see more of that on other media too. Those two spend time together, fight, joke, and save each other without being romantically attracted.

Ichigo’s entry was enough to tell that he’s already way more powerful than the female Sternritters. I’m not complaining that he showed up because we haven’t seen the lead of the series for months. I just feel he shouldn’t have appeared to take on small fry. Maybe the female Sternritters have a trick up their sleeves and they’ll fuse together to become more powerful? Whatever the case, I think Ichigo will still be able to easily defeat them. The lead character didn’t lose his sense of humor when he came to Kenpachi’s aid and that’s what I enjoy about Bleach. The humor comes across as effortless and not out of place at all.

With Ichigo arriving at the battlefield does it mean he will go through most of the Sternritter’s quite easily? If he has arrived so soon, when will the other heroes arrive? There’s a roster of characters that still have to make an appearance and show off their new training. Does that mean Chad and Orihime will be facing even more powerful antagonists?
