Firstly, the artist on this and the next issue has changed to Marcio Takara from Incorruptible. Great book if you haven’t read it, and a great addition to the Carol Corps, albeit temporarily.

Opening with an intense nightmare of those she cares about, Carol and Tic are headed back to Carol’s ship, Harrison, and her cat, Chewie. Upon arrival, they find it and her ship in the furry little hands of Rocket Raccoon.

10616363_10100435699010352_4116440766562968681_nThe banter between Rocket and Carol is excellent, and very much of the Guardian of the Galaxy vein we’ve all come to know and love. Rocket maintains that Chewie is actually a Flercken. I have to admit, I love Rocket. I said it in my introduction to Captain Marvel article, and I stand by it. Everything is better with Rocket Raccoon. This issue is no exception.

Again, not to fully spoil the issue, let’s just say there is an apology in order for someone, and a big alien ship. Also, Harrison meows.

If you haven’t read any of Captain Marvel yet, go do it now. I’d personally start with the last volume, but that’s just me. Either way Kelly Sue DeConnick is masterful at the helm of Carol Corps.
