The Official Avengers: Endgame Clip Foreshadows Dark Times Ahead For Captain Marvel!

Disney/Marvel has released the first official clip from Avengers: Endgame. It features the remaining Avengers trying to figure out how to save everyone with help from Captain Marvel. However, the way Carol has been depicted, I think it won’t end well for her.

This article contains speculation about Avengers: Endgame and mentions alleged spoilers which were leaked online. You have been warned. No, seriously, you should back away because it isn’t going to be pretty. Still here? Okay, then!

The clip shows Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Rhodey Rhodes, Carol Danvers, and Thor in the Avengers compound. It opens with Black Widow saying the Infinity Stones were used again.

She is talking about Thanos, right? Why is he using them again? Is he dusting more people just for fun? Does he still have the Gauntlet or is he simply using the Stones? Can he make Natasha get rid of that awful hair color?

Certain members of the team (Carol and Steve) are ready to take on Thanos head to head again while others (Bruce and Rhodey) want to come up with a plan before they act.

Carol chimes in that things will be different this time because they have her. This leads to Rhodey asking her where she has been. Carol tells him there are other planets in the universe. The thing is, while her answer explains what Captain Marvel has been doing all this time, didn’t Thanos destroy numerous worlds while making his way to Earth? Did he really not register on Carol’s radar before, or is her being busy elsewhere something we just have to accept to help make sense of her absence?

Anyway, the clip has an awesome scene with Thor getting up (after eating a bowl of bread because why not?) and testing Carol by summoning Stormbreaker. Carol’s confidence is admirable. However, considering how screenwriting works and certain leaks I have read online, it probably isn’t going to end well for her.

According to the (alleged) leaks, Carol and the rest of the Avengers are going to experience defeat. Her injuries will show the Avengers how her powers are connected to one of the Stones. But she won’t be down for long. With some of the Avengers getting ready to time-travel, Thor and Carol will try to keep Thanos busy in the present.

As far as I know, even in the comics Carol isn’t as physically strong as Thor or Hulk. The MCU will follow suit and have Thor and Hulk be the main heavy hitters.

The online leaks make it seem like Avengers: Endgame is going to be a dude-fest when it comes to characters capable of defeating Thanos and playing an important role in the story. So, I guess Captain Marvel fans need to be ready for such an outcome?

I mean, we all saw what happened to Black Panther in Avengers: Infinity War after his highly successful solo film. With how things have been going in the MCU and with the Avengers: Endgame promo material focusing on the core three (Thor, Captain America, and Iron-Man), I wouldn’t be surprised if Carol is downgraded to a supporting role or unfortunately follows the Faux Action Girl trope.

There is another leak which shares some different information about what might happen to Carol. [Warning: it’s questionably reliable and made one editor so mad she had to go take a walk.] So, if you want to read it, head to that link yourself.

Of course, this is all speculations based on alleged leaks at this point. However, I personally wouldn’t be surprised if Carol does take a back seat because the main focus is going to be Captain America and Iron-Man due to one of them (likely Cap) dying.

The film will be released on in the US on April 26, 2019.
