Claws 3×7 Review: Chicken

Claws Season 3 Episode 7 Review Chicken
Polly and Desna in ‘Chicken’ (Image: Screengrab)

With only a few more episodes left in the third season of Claws, ‘Chicken’ gave us some interesting plot developments even though it included the death of a likable character.

I was provided a free screener of ‘Chicken’ for review. The opinions are my own.

Whenever Desna tries to do something, things grow more dangerous for her. Also, I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, she needs to tighten her grip on her crew. Her crew members talk a big game about being there for each other. However, certain cracks are showing especially where Polly and Quiet Ann are concerned. At this rate, Desna is better off moving away from them.

Polly has grown too close to Joe and I don’t think Desna can entirely trust her. Not only that but being in a relationship with Joe also puts Polly in danger. Maybe Polly will be able to get Joe on Desna’s side? I can only hope. She did convince him to not kill Quiet Ann, so at least that’s something.

And speaking of Quiet Ann, what was she thinking sharing incriminating information about Vikram Patel with her brother? It was obvious her brother was going to use the information to take down his political opposition. As far as I can tell, this is strike two for Ann. Earlier, she spilled her guts and got Desna arrested. Now, she has put a lot more people in danger. They need to take the ‘Quiet’ off her name!

The first casualty due to the information Ann shared with her brother was Arlene. Her death came as a surprise. I was hoping Arlene and Ann would try and live a happy life. But I understand the situation required someone to be killed and the writers couldn’t murder a member of Desna’s crew (yet). So, Arlene had to go. Fingers crossed her death opens an investigation which can help Desna down the line. I wonder how Desna will explain Arlene’s death to Ann.

With the Chinese Triad involved, let’s see how Desna is able to survive the trouble she, her crew, Dean, and the Lovestones are stuck in.

Some thoughts and questions:

  • Bryce unknowingly promoting his book to a group of white supremacists was funny.
  • I don’t know what Dr. Ken is doing. He seems to be far away from the main plot.
  • I wonder if Toby will harm Jenn’s mother.
  • Eric is clearly not over Jenn.
