Focusing on an essential part of the iconic DC Comics Trinity, The Big Book of Superman by Noah Smith is an enjoyable introduction to Clark Kent for young fans.

I was provided a review copy of DC Comics: The Big Book of Superman by Downtown Bookworks. The opinions are my own.

Similar to The Big Book of Wonder Woman and The Big Book of Batman, DC Comics: The Big Book of Superman makes use of the same easy-to-read content, retro character designs, and the metallic paper cover. It’s all about introducing Clark Kent to a younger audience as the book talks about his childhood, powers, enemies, friends, and more.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The Big Book of Superman is an ideal introduction to this iconic super hero, perfect for young fans (ages 4 and up)! Using easy-to-understand text illustrated with classic DC comics art, this thoroughly engaging book covers everything readers need to know, from Superman’s Kryptonian roots to his amazing superpowers; from his Justice League pals (including Batman and Green Lantern) to arch-enemy Lex Luthor; and many of his most impressive feats. Beautifully packaged with a printed-foil cover, this is a must-have for every young super hero fan’s bookshelf!

While Superman isn’t one of my favorite comic book characters, I still had fun going through this 32-page hardcover book. It talks about everything and everyone related to Superman. Even Krypto is mentioned! Author Noah Smith has done a good job of covering Superman’s basics and what makes him a hero that continues to stand the test of time.

Even though Clark Kent isn’t from Earth, he still does his best to save it as well as other planets in need. Also, he doesn’t let his superpowers get the best of him and always does what’s right.

DC Comics: The Big Book of Superman is another enjoyable addition to Downtown Bookworks’ DC Holiday Releases. You can introduce youngsters to Clark Kent by pre-ordering this title. It’s currently listed at $16.99 USD.
