‘DC Comics: Color Me Powerful’ Is a Fun Way To Empower Little Kids

DC Comics: Color Me Powerful is another enjoyable offering from Downtown Bookworks that teaches kids about the importance of female empowerment.

I was provided a review copy of DC Comics: Color Me Powerful from Downtown Bookworks. The opinions are my own. 

I think it’s correct to say that 2017 will be remembered as the year that brought the dire need for female empowerment to the forefront. Not only did we get the highly enjoyable Wonder Woman live-action film, the Harvey Weinstein scandal started a positive movement.

I believe that female empowerment starts at home. While certain media is doing its part to showcase what is meant by being a strong woman, households need to teach their kids about it, too. And if you have kids you wish to teach about female empowerment in a fun and creative way, DC Comics: Color Me Powerful can help you out.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Inspiring prompts, coloring pages, list starters, phrases, and powerful patterns—all featuring DC’s fearless female super heroes—jump-start the imagination. DC Comics: Color Me Powerful by Sarah Parvis is a 144-page book that’s full of activities meant to encourage kids (and grownups) to find their inner power. The activities include designing your own superhero, cape, logo, a magic potion, writing comic speech bubbles, answering questions about your inner hero, and more. It’s awesome stuff!

The book makes use of retro character designs as well as a lot of bright colors and fun shapes to keep you interested in every page.

DC Comics: Color Me Powerful has a list price of $12.99 USD and $14.99 CAN. It’s currently available.
