‘Crimson Peak’ Trailer Finally Arrives

The ultimate in geeky cinema has finally reared its heads in the newly released trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.

Fandom has long been waiting for our first look at this Victorian horror film directed by the master nerd himself, Guillermo del Toro. Along with looking like a deliciously shivery haunted house movie, the film stars fangirl favorites Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Jane Eyre), Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim), Burn Gorman (Pacific Rim, Torchwood), and of course, Tom Hiddleston (he’s Loki, okay? Loki. You know it and I know it).

Looking tall, pale, and perfectly natural in black Victorian mourning-esque clothes, Hiddleston plays the mysterious new husband of aspiring author, Edith Cushing (Wasikowska), and who is definitely not all he seems to be. He sweeps her away to a ghoulish and isolated house, home to his creepy sister, played by Jessica Chastain.

Along with hauntingly beautiful visuals (a constant of del Toro’s work), a distinctly Roderick and Madeline Usher feel to the pale and gaunt siblings, the film features a lovely vintage-looking poster which, I hope, will bring about a re-surge of atmospheric ghost stories in our theaters.crimson-2

Tell us what you think about the trailer for Crimson Peak below! Are you as happy as I am that Benedict Cumberbatch was replaced by Tom Hiddleston?

    1. Yes, he did. He has a cameo in the trailer. After she asks the question about “violent deaths.”
