CultureFly Summer July/August 2026 Star Wars Galaxy Box “Imperial Pilot” Theme – Review

The latest CultureFly Star Wars Galaxy box featured the ‘Imperial Pilot’ theme, allowing fans to step into a bit of their dark side while showcasing their love for the long-running IP.

With the previous subscription box having the ‘Rebel Pilot’ theme, it made sense for the CultureFly team to switch things up and offer Star Wars fans a taste of the dark side with the ‘Imperial Pilot’ box for Summer 2026.

I really enjoyed the ‘Rebel Pilot’ themed box, with me still carrying the cap, backpack, jacket, and the water bottle to work. The backpack continues to be my favorite item from the recent box. So, yeah, I was looking forward to what the latest Star Wars Galaxy Box would include and what I could add to my personal and professional wardrobe.

Measuring approximately 14 x 10 inches, the ‘Imperial Pilot’ box was quite hefty. The grey-ish box featured the Galactic Empire logo. The lid was magnetic, allowing you to easily use the box for storage purposes later. Lifting the lid, I was pleasantly surprised by the design inside the box making it seem you were flying a TIE Fighter and aiming at an X-wing Starfighter.

The box contained a total of 6 officially licensed exclusive Star Wars items.

Of course, you got the approximately 1.75-inch circular enamel pin. The double-clasped pin featured a TIE Fighter with the words ‘Search and Destroy’ as well as ‘Imperial TIE Fighter’. To be honest, I’m not a fan of pins, but I understand that many are. Thus, most subscription boxes add collectible pins to the haul.

In usable items, the box had a PU leather Desk Organizer. I’ve never been into having a desk organizer before, but there’s something about this one being shaped like an Imperial Pilot Helmet that got me to keep it on my desk after I opened the box. And you know what? It’s still on my desk, and I have been using it.

I think it might have to do with this item being around 8 x 8 inches and 2 inches high. That’s quite a lot of space to hold pens, pins, stickers, pencils, and more. The organizer itself isn’t very organized on my desk (I can only do so much!), but it is being used, and my table space is a lot clearer. So, yay!

Due to winter coming up, this Summer box was all about having you be ready for the cold weather.

The second item was a beanie. Featuring black and gray, the front of the beanie had the Galactic Empire logo with red highlights. It also had a patch featuring the Imperial Pilot helmet with the words ‘Rebel Attack On the Death Star’ and ‘Imperial Starfighter’. I liked how the back of the beanie had an image of you aiming the X-wing Starfighter.

Another wearable was the Quarter Zip Long-Sleeved Hoodie, made of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. And yeah, I have already added it to my wardrobe options for winter.

The color palette stuck to the black, gray, and red tones of the beanie. From what I can tell, the front of the hoodie had the words ‘Galactic Empire’ written in Aurebesh, one of the Star Wars lore languages. The Aurebesh alphabet has been printed subtly, allowing the front of the hoodie not to be in-your-face with the Star Wars-themed design.

The front has two chest pockets that open with you pulling the zipper up instead of down. The bottom also has a single pocket to keep your hands warm. The neck zipper has the words ‘TIE Fighter’ written in red.

The right sleeve has a patch featuring an image of the TIE Fighter with the words ‘Imperial Starfighter Corps’ and ‘T-5 Division’. This patch also has a sleeve pocket. Nice!

The left arm has a patch with the same TIE Fighter helmet design used on the beanie.

My favorite part of the hoodie was that it has thumb holes. I love thumbholes!

In contrast to the front, the back of the hoodie features a giant Galactic Empire logo in red with the words ‘Search & Destroy’. The logo has a felt-like texture, which added to the overall coziness of the hoodie.

Then we had the Throw Blanket. Measuring around 60 x 50 inches and made of 100% polyester, it’s another item I have already planned to use this winter. Against a black background, the image on the front featured a TIE Fighter, the Galactic Empire logo, and other associated imagery and words. Fully open, it came up to my neck and happened to be big enough for a nice cozy time on my couch. I like it!

The final item was the black Messenger Bag, coming in at around 16.5 x 10.8 x 4.5 inches. Similar to the rest of the items, it also stuck with the black, gray, and red colors. The front had the words ‘Galactic Empire’ in Aurebesh, and I liked the loops having accents of red. The adjustable strap had the words ‘Imperial Starfighter’ written on it.

It’s your usual messenger/laptop bag with a durable make and a bunch of pockets to hold your stuff. It’s definitely more subtle than the ‘Rebel Pilot’ backpack to take to work. However, I have to say that I will be sticking with my ‘Rebel Pilot’ backpack for the foreseeable future.

And that leads to one of my gripes with the Star Wars Galaxy Box Subscription option from CultureFly. I get that the CultureFly team wants to create boxes to entice new subscribers with a variety of items. However, as someone who is already a subscriber, it’s a bit disappointing to receive yet another carrying bag as one of the main items. Like, how many bags does a person need?

I personally feel that the creative team should work on adding new things and wearables to each box so current subscribers can enjoy something fresh. Anyone interested in getting their very first Star Wars Galaxy Box for a particular item can always order one of the previous boxes.

As of writing this, I think I might have to skip getting the next Star Wars Galaxy Box if it contains yet another bag.
