The current year seems to be turning into a good one for fans of Marvel’s Wiccan. Not only will Billy Kaplan be in the new Strikeforce comic book series come September, but writer Tini Howard will also be adding him in the Death’s Head miniseries this July!

Even though Wiccan has been absent from the current Marvel Comics Universe for quite a while, things seem to be changing for the Young Avengers team member. We recently got an emotional story featuring the young mutant in Anthony Oliveira’s ‘My Drag Brunch With Loki’ which appeared in War of the Realms: War Scrolls Issue 2.

Fans who want more after Oliveira’s 10-page story have two comic book titles to look forward to. First up, we have Death’s Head Issue 1 which will be released on July 31, 2019.

Here’s the official description for the first installment in the 4-issue miniseries:

Rising stars Tini Howard & Kei Zama take on Marvel UK’s hottest character,
Death’s Head, in a new miniseries!

When a job goes wrong, intergalactic mech merc Death’s Head wakes up half-assembled at a punk show! And if the crowd full of deodorant-eschewing youths wasn’t enough, the Young Avengers show up! Well, half of them anyway. Hulkling and Wiccan face down the best freelance peacekeeping agent in this universe!

I don’t know a whole lot about Death’s Head as a character, but I’ll be picking up this story!

As for September’s Strikeforce debut (also written by Howard), we got an official description for that, too.

From the dark minds of rising stars Tini Howard and Germán Peralta comes a tale of the underside of the Marvel Universe! A new threat is secretly taking over the planet — and the more people who know about it, the more powerful the threat becomes. Blade dealt with this threat once before, and hoped to never have to again. He can’t bring the Avengers in on this — not just for their own safety, but for the safety of everyone on Earth. So he must recruit a team of heroes accustomed to darkness — a strikeforce. Blade, Angela, Spider-Woman, Wiccan, the Winter Soldier, Monica Rambeau and Daimon Hellstrom join forces to fight the fights that no other Marvel team can take on!

I’m still not sure how Wiccan is supposed to be ruthless, but I’m looking forward to reading what Howard has in store for us.

Howard seems to be a fan of Wiccan and Hulkling. Being a fan of characters you write about is always a good thing in my book.

Are you excited about the new stories featuring Wiccan? Let us know.
