Detective Pikachu trailer 2 review reaction

The second trailer for Detective Pikachu has been released, and as far as I’m concerned it is far better than the first. I can’t wait for this film to be released so I can enjoy all the Pokemon, humor, and action displayed in the trailer.

The Detective Pikachu second trailer opened with Ryan Reynold’s Pikachu sharing how he can’t remember stuff and there is an address inside his cap. The pace is set to the iconic song by Bonnie Tyler. It is clear from the trailer the world is used to living alongside Pokemon. It isn’t an origin story, and that is why it will be interesting to see what audience members who aren’t too familiar with the Pokemon franchise will think of this film.

I hope they offer a Pokedex as promotional material.

Here’s my reaction!

I have heard some people saying the CG is too obvious, but I don’t care because I think the film is going for a cartoony-feel, which fits the Pokemon franchise quite well.

There are numerous Pokemon for you to catch in this trailer. Charizard, Bulbasaur, Psyduck, Mr. Mime, Jigglypuff, Greninja, freaking Mewtwo! So, many awesome Pokemon! With Mewtwo in there, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mew shows up, too.

Along with Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith, Detective Pikachu also stars Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, Iran Soni, Paul Kitson, and Bill Nighy.

The upcoming, first-ever live-action Pokemon movie has been directed by Rob Letterman. It is about Tim (Justice Smith) as he searches for his detective father Harry Goodman. Detective Pikachu, who was Harry’s former partner, decides to help Tim in his mission.

The story is set in Ryme City, which has been described as “a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world.”

Detective Pikachu will be released in US theaters on May 10, 2019.

Are you excited about it? Let us know.
