“Drag Race Philippines” Season 4 Introduces the 12 Contestants Before September Premiere!

Fans of the highly entertaining Drag Race Philippines reality competition show don’t have to wait long to enjoy the fourth season of the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise spin-off. The 12 contestants have been introduced before the September 25, 2026, premiere on WOW Presents Plus.

When it comes to the whole bunch of spin-offs branching from the long-running RuPaul’s Drag Race series, I think the fandom will agree that Drag Race Philippines is definitely one of the best reality competitions having Drag Queens vying for the crown. I’m definitely a fan of Drag Race Philippines. So, yeah, I’m looking forward to seeing what the latest installment has in store for viewers.

Talking about the promotional material, the creative team decided to opt for an aquatic vibe with the host Mama Pao/Paolo Elito Macapagal Ballesteros IV, as well as the 12 contestants, dressed in marine-inspired outfits. It looks so good. Drag Queens from the Philippines understand camp so well.

There’s a moment in the video where Mama Pao comes up to the surface and yells a statement. Certain fans have translated the moment to basically mean that the title ‘Pearl of the Orient Seas’ belongs to the Philippines.

From my understanding, the surrounding controversy has to do with certain people wanting to take away the title because of the region’s marine degradation. Furthermore, on the geopolitical side, there’s a marine territorial dispute between China and the Philippines.

Due to the art of drag being inherently political, let’s see what kind of statement the fourth season makes while using its global platform.

Talking about the 12 contestants, we have Andy Crocker, Bhorj Gum, Bombalicious Eklaver, Dixxxy Decoy, Ghulli Ghush, Katana, Manza, Maureen Biology, Merckz, Misua, Taylor Sheesh, and Valeria.

Of course, I have to talk about Misua when typing up such an article.

For those who might be unaware, Misua passed away in her sleep on the morning of April 2, 2026. The news was shared on World of Wonder and Drag Race Philippines social media accounts. Misua’s death led to the production of the fourth season being temporarily halted as the team focused on caring for the cast and crew.

Seeing Misua in the promotional content, while knowing her fate, does give the current season a very heavy emotional weight. Numerous fans have flooded the comment section sharing their love for the young Drag Queen. And yeah, I think continuing to celebrate Misua would be the proper way to go about watching such a season of reality TV.
