‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’ to be Released During Winter in Japan this Year

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be released in Japan sometime this winter and I can’t wait to play missions that allow me to participate in events that took place in the franchise’s canon.

According to Anime News Network, the announcement regarding the release was made in this year’s 25th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will ship in Japan this winter and it will be playable on the PS4.

The game was unveiled by Bandai Namco Entertainment this week and it was revealed that the title will ship to the US sometime this year for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam). Check out the announcement trailer.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a sequel to Dragon Ball Xenoverse which was released in February of last year. The sequel will follow its predecessor’s plot in which players take on the role of Time Patrollers. Their main mission is to protect the history of Dragon Ball. Time Patrollers stop the past from being altered and depending on the nature of the mission they also change past events that lead to a dire future for everyone.

I enjoyed playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse because players could create a new character to play with. Customization options allowed players to change their character’s gender, body features, hair, etc. The game also provided players with the ability to choose between five races. Each race had its own advantages and disadvantages during gameplay. Characters from canon could also be made into mentors to learn unique skills. The online multiplayer mode could be used to form groups with other players and to participate in missions together.

With the Dragon Ball Super anime currently airing, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see characters from the anime be introduced in the game as well.
