Everything For Demon King Evelogia 1×2 Review – “Demon King Sama Killing Plan”

Demon Sama Killing Plan Everything For Evelogia anime episode 2 review
Eve and Gozu walking through the forest in ‘Demon Sama Killing Plan’ (Screengrab: Everything for Demon King Evelogia anime season 1 episode 2)

The second episode of the Everything For Demon King Evelogia anime, ‘Demon King Sama Killing Plan’, shared details about Eve’s childhood. I kind of don’t fault Eve for becoming the final villain in the video game’s story.

With Gozu getting to meet the young Eve for the first time in the debut episode, it was made clear there’s some kind of bond between them. ‘Demon King Sama Killing Plan’ showed Gozu getting another vision where he’s being intimate with Eve. It’s a continuation of the same moment from his first vision.

Again, I’m not sure if the vision’s supposed to be some kind of premonition and will actually play out between them. Also, I think only Gozu’s having the vision for some reason, even though Eve’s in it, too.

The previous episode showed Gozu being hired by Eve’s parents to have their young son assassinated. And it was time for Gozu to do what he was being paid for. Apparently, the assassin being hired in the game, aka Gozu, was an NPC. I liked how Gozu wasn’t amused by the fact he had reincarnated in a video game as an NPC.

Due to Gozu being an NPC and Eve being the Final Boss, I think it would be safe to assume that we will get to meet the Hero soon enough. It’s going to be interesting to see how Gozu will stand up to the game’s Hero with his NPC status. Also, it’s a bit concerning that Gozu actually felt pain and bled in-game. He will need to be careful.

While walking through the forest to go shopping in the nearby marketplace, Eve shared a bit about his childhood with Gozu. From what I could understand, his parents were cruel to Eve from a very young age. He wasn’t allowed in the main house and lived alone in a hut next door. He wasn’t allowed to meet anyone. Even his parents rarely visited.

With Eve being treated so horribly due to immense magical powers he couldn’t control, I think it made sense for him to grow up into a villainous being. No one had ever loved him and he didn’t expect anyone to because of the fear surrounding him. I don’t know about you, but Everything for Demon King Evelogia continues to remind me of the narrative in the Naruto/Boruto franchise.

Naruto would have grown up into a very different adult if he hadn’t been able to make friends along the way. The Hidden Leaf Village feared and hated him. However, people like Iruka, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakahi stood by him. In contrast, Gaara, being near Naruto’s age and a Jinchuriki as well, was basically a cold-blooded killer due to how he had been treated ever since he was a kid. It was Naruto’s friendship that helped Gaara change his ways and become a better person.

Could experiencing love (romantic or platonic) have stopped Eve from becoming a world-threatening villain as an adult? I guess we will find out soon enough due to Gozu already changing things up in the game’s original narrative.

I liked how perceptive young Eve was. He knew something was wrong when his parents asked Gozu to accompany him during the shopping trip. Eve’s parents had never allowed him to go to the market before. Taking the secluded path through the forest helped Eve put two and two together. He realized that his parent’s plan was to have Gozu kill Eve in the woods.

With Eve learning about Gozu’s task, I’m looking forward to seeing how Eve will react to Gozu refusing to kill him.

You can watch the, approximately 4 minutes long, censored version of ‘Demon King Sama Killing Plan’ for free. I have shared the video above.

The uncensored version, approximately 6 minutes long, can be accessed via a paywall by visiting the AnimeFesta website. The two do kiss in the uncensored version, for those wondering.

Feel free to leave your thoughts about the second episode.
