Extended Scenes in X-Men: Days of Future Past “Rogue Cut”

nj

News about Rogue (Anna Paquin) being cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past during editing came out months before the film’s release. However, fans will be able to watch her cut scenes as well as deleted footage of some other characters when the “Rogue Cut” hits markets next year!

The announcement was made on Thursday from by Simon Kinberg at Stage 21. The extended version will feature an extra ten minutes of footage that didn’t make it into the theatrical version of the film. If you remember a trailer that was released for Days of Future Past, you can clearly see Rogue being rescued by Iceman and Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen). According to Kinberg the sequence was taken out of the film because it was already “full of plots and subplots”.

I’ve reviewed X-Men: Days of Future Past, and I personally feel it would’ve been better with more scenes involving the future X-Men. Watching the story unfold in the past segment had me wanting to go to sleep after the one hour mark. The future X-Men only got a total of ten minutes of screen time and felt like a waste of potential.

In the film the army of future Sentinels arrived to attack the X-Men and it didn’t make any sense. I think the incident in Rogue’s deleted 10646709_299257836924691_2370992856019309797_nsequence is what alerted the Sentinels of the X-Men taking refuge in the monastery.

You can get the theatrical version of X-Men: Days of Future Past on Digital HD in the USA. The DVD and the Blu-Ray versions will come out on October and will feature some deleted footage, including one scene where Storm (Halle Berry) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) share a kiss. I have no idea why they took that out of the film!

You will have to wait until next year for the “Rogue Cut”. As of now, no official release date has been announced.

The next installment in the franchise will again focus of the past characters and is titled “X-Men: Apocalypse”.

Will you buy the DVD and Blu-Ray versions or wait for the Rogue Cut to come out? Are you excited that we are finally getting the deleted scenes from the movie? Will they make the film better? Let us know!
