FEELINGS Daily: Wait So Women Don’t Really Wear Bikinis into Battle?

feelings-header

The most important news is that EMMA THOMPSON has been cast in Disney’s live-action Beauty and The Beast! She’s going to be Mrs. Potts! Is this not the best news ever? Kevin Kline has been cast as Belle’s father Maurice, which is also cool but NOT AS COOL AS EMMA THOMPSON! (via A.V. Club)

It seems that the much anticipated Sherlock special is ACTUALLY set in the Victorian London. Steven Moffat told EW that “The special is it’s own thing”. So apparently it’s an AU of an AU. This is either going to be the coolest thing ever or a total mess. Either way I’m more interested in it now than I ever was in Sherlock before, so good move, I guess.

Comic creator Eric Larson apparently thinks that Marvel and DC are “placating a vocal minority at the expense of the rest of the paying audience by making more practical women outfits”. Essentially he’s pissed off because someone deigned to give Wonder Woman sleeves! THE HORROR! Don’t they know that “athletes who participate in sports and wear considerably less” so those bulky outfits are just not practical. Obviously he’s a sexist asshole, and that would be the end of it if it weren’t for the fact that he represents a VERY vocal minority of fanboys that can’t seem to comprehend that women are people. I’m so grossed out and upset by this that I can’t even talk about it, so I’ll let Gail Simone do it for me. (via The Mary Sue)

After that mess you probably need something to cheer you up. I know I do. How about the Hot Dudes With Dogs Instagram? Yes. Thank. (via Huffington Post)

It’s a pretty safe bet that some of my fanboy friends call me a hypocrite for objectifying those poor men and their puppies. Guess I’m going to have to explain about systematic oppression and the MASSIVE power imbalance it causes again. Anyway, here’s The Rock lip syncing to Taylor Swift’s “Shake if Off”. Speaking of awesome musical things – Australia’s FIRST EVER Eurovision Song is FINALLY here and it’s SUPER catchy. Not going to lie, I was expecting a ballad so I’m pleasantly surprised by this catchy pop number. If you don’t know what Eurovision is – it’s kind of like Idol crossed with the Olympics and as for why Australia is being included… well, I don’t know why, but we’re super excited about it! So just let me bask in the excitement for a moment and give Guy Sebastian’s “Tonight Again” a listen. (via SBS.com.au)

Me and my fellow writer Farid were lucky enough to interview the creator of Extant, Mickey Fisher, over the weekend. You can check out Farid’s highlights here or you can watch the full interview on YouTube!

Mark Ruffalo (aka my mom’s boyfriend… in her dreams) not only wants to give the WORLD clean water but he’s also offering a lucky fan the chance to attend the London premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron. All you have to do is give a donation and you’re in with a chance! It’s win win because even if you don’t get the prize you still get to help people get access to clean water! Enter here!

And I have no idea what this is but you have to watch it okay.

We are very busy, very important people.
