“Futurama” Gets Double Episode Premiere on Hulu
Good news, everyone! Futurama is back for its 14th season and XXXL-Sized specials.

Good news, everyone! Futurama is back for its 14th season and XXXL-Sized specials.
From a non-stop onslaught of swaggering space pirates, lab-grown meats, sexy scams… plus the shocking return of Dr. Zoidberg’s lost love, these new episodes are just as quick to the punch as ever. Everything manages to feel fresh while still playing to classic Futurama structure.
What I love most about this newest season is that the characters have matured since their first appearance in 1999. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still stupid and crass, but the characters feel more lived in with every season. They have complex backstories that are given time and attention. The romantic relationships are treated seriously by both the writers and the characters– everyone is still very much in love and grateful for their love. It’s a refreshing turn from other shows where the character backstories are reset at the end of an episode or their romantic relationships are built on contempt. Futurama Season 14 is funny, quick, and heartfelt when it really matters.
Episode 1, “Beef”, focuses on Fry’s once almost-successful career in hot dog eating contests and digging up his old rivalry with contest-winner Brocky J. This is one of those episodes where Fry’s past so easily blends into the world of the year 3000. The plot takes a lot of turns, starting with cows having gone extinct, meaning that Fry can’t seamlessly slide all beef hot dogs down his gullet and revive the hot dog eating contest. It’s a bit of a mouthful– pun intended. The Planet Express crew is eager to help him achieve his dreams the entire time. Seriously, they equate his hot dog eating prowess to being an athletic talent. It’s a great episode to kick the season off with.
Episode 2 titled “Catfish Hunter” opens with Bender’s Abuelatron being scammed out of her life savings… which also happens to be Bender’s inheritance. Attempting to go undercover in her retirement home to get the money back, Bender learns that the one thing he loves more than money is scamming people out of their money and the sexy scammer who started this whole mess. The rest of the Planet Express crew attempt to out-scam the scammers until things go awry and the ship is impounded. It’s a Bender-centric episode. What else is there to say?
Brace yourselves… The future is about to get a whole lot stranger!
Futurama Season 14 became available for streaming on August 3, 2026, on Hulu and Disney + with a new episode set to air every week.
The first of the XXXL specials will be Xmas-themed and debut in 2027.
