Glee 5×12 Review: 100

g1

This week marked the 100th episode of Glee and it brought back so many memories. Though I was happy to see the original Glee characters back I was a bit disappointed with the story and how much screen time some of them got. However, it was still enjoyable and next week we will find out whether or not Glee Club survives.

One of the best things was the competitive nature between Mercedes and Rachel. Mercedes has always tried to get the spotlight in the club but to no avail. You just can’t beat Rachel Berry no matter what you do. The ‘Diva off’ was fun to listen to and watch but come on, we all know who the real diva and star of the Glee Club is…it’s Kurt! He seems to be the most mature of the NY characters and I’m enjoying watching that. ‘Defying Gravity’ is Kurt’s song and no one can that that away from him.

I was disappointed in Santana this week. She needs to grow up. While watching her feud with Rachel is fun during the NY storyline, it felt sad and pathetic in front of the other characters. She needs to give Rachel a break, at least in front of others.

I couldn’t figure out why Quinn would bring her rich boyfriend to Lima when he knew nothing about her past. Is she crazy? Scratch that, she is, but still. It’s as if her character doesn’t want to be happy. And then there was the whole Quinn and Puck love story. If he’s still in love with her why didn’t he try and reach her? Sometimes the storylines in Glee don’t make any sense.

Brittany came back and it was wonderful seeing her again. She and Santana share a kiss and you can tell they are both still in love with each other. With the way things went I hope we get to see more of Brittany. She shared an awesome performance with Santana and Quinn. I had to watch their version of the song ‘Toxic’ twice because of how hot the three girls looked together.

April Rhodes (Kristin Chenoweth) and Holly Holiday (Gwyneth Paltrow) came back in order to save the Glee Club. I don’t know how they will achieve that because April is broke and as far as I know Holly doesn’t have a lot of money. It has been confirmed that show will be shifting its focus to the NY storyline sooner than later. So, why bother with another week of trying to save the club? As far as I’m concerned it would’ve been better if they allowed all the characters to say their goodbye’s and showed them taking up other hobbies.

What did you think of the episode? How do you feel about the Glee Club ending?
