Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2: Return Date, ED & OP Revealed

Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2

I think we can all agree that it’s been a long summer. Haikyuu!! fans have been emotional due to the manga coming to an end, and though Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 was supposed to air starting in July, it was delayed for obvious reasons. However, the official Twitter account announced earlier today that it will return in October!

Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 is coming back to us October 2. When we last left Karasuno, they had just begun a match against the elite Inarizaki, who have their own fearsome combo in the form of the Miya twins. If you remember, Kageyama met Atsumu (Mamoru Miyano) at the All-Japan Youth Training Camp in the first half of the season, and they did not really get on. (Although does Kageyama really get along with anyone?)

In a flurry of tweets this morning, the official Haikyuu!! Twitter account also released two separate promotional videos revealing the ending and opening themes for the latter half of the season. Haikyuu!! has some of my favorite songs, so I have a lot of expectations, but honestly, both of these slap so hard.

The opening theme, performed by SUPER BEAVER (props to that name, I love it) is “Toppakō” (Breach).

The ending theme, performed by SPYAIR, is “One Day”. SPYAIR has also performed two of the show’s previous opening themes – “Imagination” from the first half of Season 1, and “I’m a Believer” from the first half of Season 2. Indeed, it’s becoming the odd season out that doesn’t feature a theme from either SPYAIR or Burnout Syndromes.

While Atsumu is the Inarizaki player who gets the most focus in both PVs, we also catch glimpses of twin brother Osamu (Hideaki Kabumoto), as well as Ojiro (Jun Kasama) and Suna (Nobunaga Shimazaki).

The Inarizaki match is probably my favorite match during the Nationals arc, so I’m extremely excited to see it animated.

So mark your calendars, everyone! The volleyball boys are back in action October 2!

  1. Actually, this isn’t the only season with an OP not made by SPYAIR or Burnout Syndromes. Season 1 (I think…) part 2 had the OP song “Ah Yeah!” by Sukima Switch, but everyone forgets about that 🙁
