It’s a Game of Operation for “Scrubs” Season 2

Watch out for that funny bone! J.D., Turk, and Elliot have leveled up from interns to icons at Sacred Heart. Now, the respected doctors inspire the next generation while balancing the ups and downs of working in a hospital. Together with characters new and old, they are navigating this next chapter with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.

The 30-minute revival comedy series Scrubs stars Zach Braff as John “J.D.” Dorian, Donald Faison as Christopher Turk, Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid and Ava Bunn as Sam Tosh.

New promotional material for season 2 shows Turk and Elliot engaged in a game of Operation. Their patient? J.D.! Turk and Elliot bicker over J.D.’s heart (though his heart does have a picture of Turk… it’s just guy love between two guys).

Last season left off with J.D. and Elliot learning to work through their divorce while being coworkers, Turk raising his four daughters, budding romances and conflicts between the interns, and Dr. Cox’s diagnosis with an autoimmune disorder. This revival combined all the character-driven comedy and heartfelt emotions of the original series with the modern-day struggles of doctors. The upcoming season will follow up on the heroes of Sacred Heart through their shenanigans and struggles as they work to save lives.

Bill Lawrence of Doozer Productions created the original series and serves as executive producer alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katze, also of Doozer Productions. Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke star and executive produce. Aseem Batra serves as executive producer and showrunner; Mike Royce, Mathew Harawitz, Randall Keenan Winston and Michael Spiller also executive produce. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.

Get your head out of the clouds and tune in. The two-episode season 2 premiere of the “Scrubs” revival airs Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
