Netflix has announced the official drop date for the third and final season of Jessica Jones. Everybody, it’s time to mark your calendars and set your reminders for June 14th, because Jessica faces an incredibly creepy threat in this upcoming season!

Just last week, we reported that Jessica Jones had been officially set for a June release date. However, all we knew was the month that it would be airing. As of today, we now know that the final season will drop June 14th on Netflix! And boy, it sure does seem that we’re going to get a real thriller of a final act considering the creepy promotional material that is getting dropped across the official Jessica Jones social media accounts, Twitter and Instragram alike.

The release date announcement came by way of a short season teaser, which shows a mysterious figure loudly knocking at Jessica’ apartment door while an ominous voice narrates the words: “Jessica Jones, you are a fraud. You’re a cheater. No longer.” And given the threatening nature of the visuals that have accompanied this promotional teaser, I’m willing to bet that the voice belongs to the upcoming season’s big bad.

In addition to the teaser trailer, the rest of the Jessica Jones promotional material includes a “make-over” to the official Twitter and Instagram social media pages.

On Twitter, the account’s profile picture now shows a scratched out picture of Jessica with the word “FRAUD” written over the character’s face. The account’s header image also includes a villainous manifesto written in chicken scratch across an old season 2 promotional picture for the show, with threatening sentences reading things like: “You are a fraud, a drunk that didn’t earn any of her merit or heroism,” “Who am I? Glad you asked. I am the HAND OF DEATH,” and, “I will be asserting fairness in an unfair world by purging a fraud like Jessica Jones to light.”

The Jessica Jones Instagram account appears to have been “hacked,” with the same scratched out profile picture and new account description reading: “I didn’t earn my powers. I cheated.” The only uploaded media to the account right now only includes the two new season three teasers.

At the moment, the official name of the villain for the final season of the show hasn’t been announced yet. Although, the teaser trailer does flash an eerie clip of actor Jeremy Bobb, who does the narrating for the promo. It’s safe to say that he’ll be playing the main antagonist for the final season of the show and from the promotional material given to us thus far, this new villain sure does seem to have a major grudge against Jessica for being considered a “superhero”.
